The Ferrari 488 GTB does not impress when compared to its competition. The new turbocharged V8 Ferrari struggles against a McLaren 570S from a roll and even a Lamborghini Huracan in a drag race. The only place it puts up good numbers is in magazines.

This begs the question, is Ferrari sending ringers? Are they using different software revisions? Are they applying these revisions to newer model year 488's?

BoostAddict called out Ferrari's 488 GTB BS last year and was the only automotive outlet to do so publicly.

Drag times got a 2019 488 GTB out to PBIR and here is how it went.

The first run against the Model X P100D is botched but the Tesla turns an impressive 11.288 @ 117.62. Definitely don't sleep on it at a stoplight.

The 488 GTB is in the left lane against the stock Huracan:

Now, that is a realistic Huracan run as it is not the 135+ monster some magazines claim it is. The Ferrari is running a 10.638 @ 132.48 which is much better than previous runs where the Huracan had faster traps at PBIR. The 488 is 5 miles per hour faster now.

For the trap speed avantage to flip so dramatically there is no explanation other than more power for the Ferrari.

You can even visibly see the Ferrari pulling harder up top in the run videos as it closes the distance between the cars.

The subsequent run offers a similar result:

The 488 GTB should at the very least provide 3-4 miles per hour on the Huracan and it seems to be doing that consistently now.

The 488 GTB seems to be an honest ~132-133 car now. That means the F8 and Pista should be around ~140.
