    Labworx + DME Tuning collaborate on a McLaren MP4-12C with Pure Stage 1 M838T turbochargers resulting in 150+ more whp

    Great to see Pure Turbos Stage I M838T turbo upgrade paying big dividends. Why? Because it essentially makes the MP4-12C a huge tuning bargain. Pick one up used, get some good tuning, add the Pure Turbos upgrade and you have a budget 720S.

    At least when it comes to acceleration. Let's take a look at the baseline, pump gas, and race gas figures:

    Baseline:
    483whp/442wtq

    DME S3+DP+93oct+Pure S1:
    578whp/498wtq

    DME S3+DP+100oct+Pure S1:
    632whp/576wtq

    Very stout Mustang figures. That 632 whp on race gas would it put it roughly the same as a 720S on this same dyno although we would love to see an overlay to be sure. The 720S would be on pump gas though but that just goes to show you how high the 720S bar is.

    Still, considering an MP4-12C in stock form will do a 10.6 @ 135 the Pure Stage 1 with DME/Labworx Stage III tuning should make for an easy 9-second 140+ trap speed car in the 1/4 mile.

    I need to find an extensive write up on the M840T motor. It's insane how much the M838T needs just to get within the ballpark of it. McLaren themselves aren't engine experts but they sure know how to get the best(excluding current F1 efforts of course).
