@biturbine How is the damping and exhaust drone in the new 2017 GTR by the way? I've only gotten to experience a few examples of pre-facelift (2010, 2012) cars and they had some serious exhaust drone at highway speeds and rode like a dump truck. I've steered clear ever since, so what level has the 2017 GTR improved to? (ie: rides similar to a BMW? or exhaust drone levels similar to a C7?)

The 2016 black edition in comfort mode was little firmer than my m5 in comfort. The 2017 GTR i drove rode about the same as my M5. There is a little more tire noise in the 2017 than the 2016, little more than the M5. The 2017 has an exhaust button that lowers exhaust related sound by 10db, i found it quieter than the 2016 and nearly as quiet as the M5 but not quite. M5 is very well insulated from all frequencies. The active noise cancellation does a good job of neutralizing drone and other frequencies so not that much drone, they are both comfortable cruisers. The 2011 gtr i drove was rougher riding and noisy w/drone....

I guess the only remaining question is coupe or convertible? Probably will opt for the coupe but then again I do live close to the beach...

Someone explain to me how this doesn't sound good? Is it the best Porsche exhaust note? No. Is it better than BMW's turbo era exhaust notes? Hell yes:
