Propulsive Dynamics ZF6HP19/21 upgraded transmission bushings information
Late last month Propulsive Dynamics announced on BimmerBoost that they are working on hardware upgrade solutions for the ZF 6HP19 and 6HP21 transmissions. Part of their upgraded performance transmission hardware includes upgraded bushings.
Why are upgraded bushings important?
1. The spiraled oil groove in the support bushings increases lubrication and cooling for the internal shafts which increases durability and longevity in the trans.
2. The upgraded metallurgy eliminates the pressure bleed in the dynamic (shifting) clutches. This is the most critical countermeasure because it's one of the main reasons the E Clutch (4-5-6) is slipping at the higher power levels. Because of this, we really don't know the true capacity of the stock trans.
3. The pure aluminum casing acts as a thermally activated locking mechanism which keeps the bushing axially aligned to the shaft's axis. This improves the true position, circularity and concentrically of the shaft to bushing relationship. Again, increasing durability and longevity.
The bushings are a major performance component and a very important area in the transmission design especially as it pertains to capacity and longevity upgrades.
More details on Propulsive Dynamics ZF 6HP19 and 6HP21 upgrades will come soon.

Hell yea. I wonder how much of a pain the install would be.
Looks like i'm staying 6AT...Question now is whether i've managed to burn up the clutches enough to justify buying a lower mileage donor, or try my luck with the upgrades coming out now/in the near future. Hmmmm.[I]E88 N54 w stuff

I think with upgraded clutches and upgraded TCU we should see 700+HP.
Can't wait to see if Nizpro cracked that TCU..

They do have a work shop where all the Betas are going to be built, they also plan on supplying parts to certified shops which will be more convenient for people.
BTW, i am in no way affiliated with PD, i just know who it is personally. When they become an active supporting vendor they will answer all the questions you guys have. Please don't try and go through me for answers.

Good stuff.
I wonder how Nizpro is coming along with the software side, has there been any news from them lately?

This is great news. I can't wait till someone has some of this new hardware in their transmission to see what it can do!
I heard that dude that's making it is from Canada and recently moved to Albany, NY. Possibly an engineer that worked from some major tractor pull team up in Canada.

I spoke to Simon from Nizpro here in Australia a few weeks ago and he told me that he was hoping around the end of July that he should have enough data and have everything sorted out in the trans and TCU... They have 3 test cars at present and still doing a lot of testing especially in the full bolt-ons.
I believe their in house 335i coupe ran striaght into the 1.5 60' times with a stock converter and turbos and went 11.2 first time ever at the track!
It has a Nizpro built trans with all of their custom internal parts. It WAS NOT tuned with their trans software. This was done simply to get a baseline and some data logs so they can back to back the difference with software vs no software.
Very exciting times ahead for the auto guys!
