    Made the switch.... backwards?

    Hey guys,

Sold the 335 a month or so ago and was planning on flying up to boston, MA to pick up a new F80 M3..... well that didn't happen. Instead we had to do some adult like things and bought some property at Emerald Isle, NC. So.... being without a car I started thinking, what could I buy outright, that would still be fun, kind of rare (around these parts) and build-able/trackable but daily-able? well a good customer of mine just so happened to come in and said he was thinking about selling his E90 M3 he had since new. Just clocking over 30K on it and Me knowing the entire history I figured it was a no brainer.

I will be honest, even though it is severely under-powered compared to my 600rwhp N54 I don't miss it AT ALL. The chassis is superior, the handling (even though the 335 had m control arms and LSD) is far better, braking is better, overall feeling is better. I literally cannot wait to drive it every time I get out of just driving it hahaha. I used to hate HARD on the S65 motor but I think that was the n54 fanboi coming out in me. I do not hate the N54 at all, it was a wonderful car with tons of power and looked nice too.

Summer plans for the S65 will include BE rod bearings (preventatively) and supercharging it (researching brands now). I have already lowered it on HR sports, Macht shnell Test pipes, Macht Shnell Intake, Evolve R tune, OEM Exhaust Mod (loud), and Just ordered some Apex EC-7 wheels that I will take pics of once installed this week.

thanks for reading... or not! haha

People should buy what makes them happy.

The majority of N54 people get caught up in dyno figures as a measure of a car. Honestly, when you mod the N54 to the point it's making 600+ whp you have to deal with a lot of compromises. A throttle that is an on/off switch waiting for the turbo to spool isn't all that fun.

The M3 is fun. It sounds better. It's throttle response is better. It's more fun to wind out to redline. The torque curve is far flatter and more linear. The suspension is better. The brakes are better. It looks better.

The M3 in stock form is just all around better to drive let alone if modded.
