Mobile tuning app for MHD, OFT, BBFlash and log viewer

Maybe I should have just posted here since this is where the open source stuff started and more people that it's relevant to. We still have too many forums. Copy/pasta:

Disclaimer: This isn't sales and I'm not affiliated or getting any kickbacks. I love MHD, but dislike having to email myself BIN's for minor changes, then whip out my laptop every time I need to do something. That's when I found ALDLdroid. The developer made it for flashing/tuning/datalogging etc old GM OBD-1 cars, but they happen to use TunerPro XDF's, unlocked BIN's, and CSV datalogs just like we do. I was hoping that the tuning part of the app and datalog viewing would work with us, but it turned out that our cars XDF and even our binary are a touch more advanced than an early 90's pontiac. But he took the challenge and was able to get the app to work with all of our XDF's properly for all of our ROM's.

What the app allows you to do is select an XDF and BIN, then modify it and save it. You can then email it or flash it with MHD or whatever you want to do with it. It also allows you to view all of the CSV logs I've thrown at it faster and easier than datazap from a phone. Nothing replaces TunerPro and Datazap for really getting into things, but for a quick change, this app is great!

    Negatives:
    - Cannot make its own logs, but the dev says he has been working on getting OBD-II support for the bluetooth thingies like the Torque app. Maybe useful for people who have multiple cars or with BBFlash or whatever, I dunno.
    - Only 6 overlays at a time for log viewing, carryover from GM tuning world, why would you need more than 6? He's adding additional overlays with the OBD-II support.
    - No built in file browser, you have to put the BIN, XDF, and CSV in the folders to view them.
    - XDF items are in list form, no categories.
    - One MHD specific tables doesn't pull up correctly, load by gear. But that's semi-adjustable at flash time in MHD anyway, he's looking into it.

For spending the time to add support for our cars I thought I'd make a post. The app saved me lots of time over the holidays and is a good complement for MHD if you mess with things often. Who knows, maybe the dev's can hook up and add all this to MHD even

Thats cool. Its good for making small changes i guess.

This really helps me a lot and might help others

I use google drive. So i make a tune, save it to a folder specific for my car from my computer. Then i go out to my car i download it from my google drive and flash it. (literally takes 10 seconds). Then i log my csv files from the jb mobile on my phone or tablet and send it to my JB specific folder on my drive. I come inside and view my logs, make changes to my .bin save it and bam, everything is with me 100% of the time. I'll make multiple tunes for what i am doing so i can flash on the road if need be. I also have individual folders for other peoples cars that i tune. I usually just grant them access to their folder and they can access that part of the drive when ever i make one or they want to revert. I can also send them single links to 1 tune if need be. Its very very convenient. I also upgraded to 100G's for like $1.99 a month. This makes it so much easier if i am using my tablet or phone. Everything is right there. I also have all the XDF's, My special XDF's, all OTS maps, etc. For someone who tunes a lot of cars i highly recommend it.

Looks great , it would be nice if he would give a 1-2 day trial period , to make sure we like it before purchasing it. Just a thought. Thanks for the great find .

I had started working on something similar to this that I planned to share w/ Martial to plug in to MHD as an add-on.

I placed it on the back burner as other things took priority, and I didn't think there would be much interest. However, this thread and a member asking on FB a few days ago about something similar has me considering finishing it up. It would address all the negatives in your list Justin, as well as add a few more features in the pro's column (luxuries domestic tuners currently enjoy: live tracing logs directly over table data, virtual dyno, etc).

Is this something enough people are actually interested? Optimized for tablet screen size, or is it worth shoehorning phone size support in there too?

definitely interested, however would be more interested in having the capability to do on the fly changes to the tune, rather than a reflash each time

I think the "me too" bit is a little in bad taste since v8bait is obviously trying to give this company a shout out for the work he's done so far. Just my $.02. Click here to enlarge

No bin compare, things like that are best to still use tunerpro. This is best for things like fine tuning timing, afr, and especially boost. Flash only boost control is generally the most difficult to get right to avoid throttle closures, lag, oscillations etc and having something like this can just streamline changes. Well for me at least. I did send the dev links to these posts, he was really looking for feedback about this part of the app, so you never know!

Not likely ever going to happen for us. In cars with this functionality you either have a stand alone designed for it, or some type of emulator.

It's not the cheapest app in the world but what the app was designed to do is significantly more than what I'm using it for. I think with the changes in the works now that the dev is aware of our little corner here help justify it a little bit with the generic abilities coming. But yes @jyamona@motiv there is interest, I heard about you working on this a long time ago and remember it being a goal of martials in addition to simplifying coding things, but I got tired of waiting. Keep up the good work! :-)
