Finally a 1/4 mile run. Stock turbo XI record?

I finally took the 3 hour drive last night, and went to my closest 1/4 mile track in Epping, NH.

It was a blast and well worth the drive! Met a lot of cool people!

I made a couple revisions to my tune since I last ran in the 1/8th mile. I did remove my seats, but I had more a lot more fuel and tools I took down with me, so my weight was about the same.

I am VERY happy with my results. Done on 93 pump gas with meth injection. I did up the nozzle size from the 375ml one to the 625ml. To be honest, I think it was a mistake and it is to much for a single port injection. The car ran smoother with the 375ml one and AFR was easier to control.

I made about 15 runs. Every run I was 11.7-11.8@118 MPH no matter what I changed. I MAY be able to squeeze a mph out with vanos changes, but I really doubt it. I think until I actually upgrade my intercooler, I won't be able to make any more power out of this setup.

I think the stock turbo XI record was 11.7. For the record, my modifications are as such:

    Mr.5 Intake mod
    Gutted Cats
Water injection 625ml nozzle 100% meth.
    GTR Spark plugs

Stock everything else, down the to wheels even.
    2008 E90 335XI A/T. Mr.5 intake, gutted cats, self tuned, meth injection(625ml nozzle), 93 octane e10 fuel.

I'm just mind blown as to how close the numbers are. I noticed that my 60' was better. What kind of tires are you running? I think if you got the same 60' as me, you would be in the 11.5 range.

    225/45/17 Continental all seasons.

I wasn't even spinning, I am having a hard time building boost off the line. I am unsure if it is my driving or tuning. My last run I did brake boost it at partial throttle and push it down once releasing the brake. Launching in first. How do you launch yours?

Brake boosted in 1st gear at 2,000 rpms. I had a little bit of tire spin.

Do you just let it go until throttle cuts itself? Or purposely make sure it is at 2000 rpm?

I'll have to try this next time. Perhaps me being overly aggressive off the line with my throttle is why I am not getting the 60 foots I want.

Definitely think you'll be able to get better times. Good luck!

Also, shift at around 6,000-6,250 rpms if you didn't already.

    Thanks!

Yes, that is exactly what I have been doing. I gained about 1mph in the 1/8th from switching shift points from 6500 to about 6.

I did read that these cars can break them a while back, but I haven't heard anything new on this.

Do they typically only have issues on launch?

Have both the automatic and manual have broken cases equally?

Also heard of front differential issuss. Does anyone know if their failure of these is also only on the launch?

    Nice number!
Thats pretty good for Epping. When i use to race there the track prep was a joke. Luckily my 3000GT was AWD. I've driven tons of RWD cars for people there and its a really tough track.
