    DODSON DCT CLUTCH KIT

Hey guys, im looking for some info on anybody that has installed the sportsman dct clutch upgrade from dodson. id appreciate any feedback regarding install and post install "clutch learning process" and how it affects daily driving if it does in anyway. Im planning on installing it on my m6 f13, getting the AMS tune soon, im running catless ams pipes, gtc meistershaft exhaust with afe power intakes. looking to be rolling at about 680whp and 660ft/lb tq.

All the BMW DCT boxes are the same basic thing. Yes, there are differences of course but Getrag essentially just upgraded the internals on the DCT box from the M3.

The Dodson clutch kit works but someone also needs to know their tuning. I haven't seen it used on the M5 personally.

I wish I had more to share but Dodson is the right way to go if you are exploring this option.

    Hey sticky,
well ive been digging into the whole tuning of the dct and it seems that there is no need to upgrade the software on the m5/m6 platform, dont know if this is the case with the m3 though just installing the clutch package and running "relearn dct" option, then it supposed to take a while for it to relearn the clutches by itself, dont know if this is right or not.

I'm not sure if that is right but one thing I have learned from BMW is it is often their electronics that impede progress.

reply from dodson below, does this mean what i say it means, or am i misreading something, thanks sticky.
It's always best to have the latest firmware from the oem, but it's just a case of install and the dealer or workshop with the correct diagnostic tool to relearn/adapt/teach new clutch position.
Drive is not compromised, it's better.
    Regards

Excellent. So I mean you will need a diagnostic tool but it looks to be pretty straightforward.

I think this is just for the basic clutch kit though or the lower torque capability one I should say. They have two or maybe more at this point?
