Motor Trend finally get their hands on another viper TA!

I really wanted this car instead of the GTS for motor trends best car. But it should be on next years best car. But GM might have a ZO7 out by then.

I'd seriously consider getting this car just to sit in my garage and take out every now and again. But the z51 is a lot more bang for buck and the aftermarket is awesome.

So what Dodge is saying here is...yes yet again we built an over powered chassis car in the GTS and after going to market and making sales decided to fix it's shortcomings by using the public as guinea pigs. Sorry, but I'm not a Dodge fan, never was, and probably never will be. I've rode in older Vipers and besides looking cool, was just an awful car. I'll take a corvette please.

I'd rather be seen in a Viper than a corvette. There are too many vettes and different model vettes. The viper is more of a man's car and is very rare.

I have to agree my frined. Although the Viper is a more spiriited drive at the track, the vette is hard to beat when you consider all aspects of a car.

See I go back and forth on this. Vipers are super badass and, IMO, very good looking cars. But they are a little too flashy and obnoxious for me. Whether or not its a good daily driver, I wouldn't drive one every day because its too flashy.

Not me, no way. To me the Viper is the douchebag car that a guy buys when he can't afford a real supercar. The corvette is an american classic. I'd rather drive a mustang than a Viper. The Viper is a great powertrain on an otherwise POS car. Yes, the GTS stepped it up quite a bit, but this TA just proves how they even cheaped out a bit on the GTS. I mean lets put it this way. There are just too many pro's to buy every other car it competes with over the Viper. The GTS's biggest accomplishment was straight line acceleration which the GT500 compares to for a much smaller price tag and is still a limited production car.

GT500 kills almost all other cars its a mustang that I personally would never want to own.

The Viper is competes and beats out almost all its competitors. There are only a couple of cars that are beating it right now. The Viper is unique and is for a different crowd, just like the GTR some people like it some don't. But like I said if you put the Viper next to a vette the viper looks amazing compared to a grocery getter vette.

I'd only buy the TA the rest I could care less about! The viper does look better than the Vette and They're not a dime a dozen.

I agree it is a bit concerning Dodge has so many tweaks and editions out so quickly.

That said... this car is awesome.

I wouldn't buy a Dodge, I would maybe consider a cummins diesel truck, but that's purely based on the motor. However, the TA is definitely a sweet performing car but at what cost?

I wouldn't say Vette's are a dime a dozen like mustangs and camaro's are, but I get your point. Z06/Z07 is not dime a dozen though.

The way I looks at the 100k range is if I had the money to spend it I'd get what I truly wanted and not worry about performance. But as of right now it'd be a RS7 > E63 Wagon 4matic > M5 comp package. And the only reason why the RS7 is above the E63 is because they can't defeat the torque vectoring $#@!. I'd rather rock the wagon!

I see Z06s all the time in my area. Even when there is snow. Yes I know what the ZO6 look like from the front. But I also see a few 911s and a GT3 but a Dr at the hospital I am by owns that thing.

It will only be a matter of time before the Z51 is everywhere and the new Z07.

But if i wanted american muscle the Viper TA would fix my itch!

If I were to choose American muscle as well it would be the Viper. It's just so raw. It's as American muscle as you can get.

the fact that he hit 140+mph on the front strait of Willow WITH A CHICANE is pretty insane. Most people don't hit that speed using the entire straightaway.

Yeah, I hear ya, if I was spending Viper Money (120-140k) on a car, I wouldn't be buying something for pure stock performance. I'd honestly probably be searching for a used Gallardo or 430 or something like that. The RS7 is a badass ride as well....I like that choice! haha

Oh don't get me started on used. That would take quite a few...... Get an E28 m5 and make it as fast as my e28 535i was. Get a RS4 then do APR Stage 3+ sc on it and a new 328d wagon for my DD. That would burn through 140k pretty easy!

My garage needs about 50 spaces.

And my bank account needs a 1 followed by 8 zeros.
