30-40hp for what, $10,000....probably more ? LOL, probably the worst hp per dollar mod I've seen. Spend a little bit more and you have a supercharger with around triple the hp increase. Not to mention you have to modify the hood and make it look a Camaro LOL.

    the link above says,
"PP-Performance took the complete intake manifold, camshaft, crankshaft and pistons from the SLS AMG, and fitted them into the following Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG with the goal to reach at least 600hp."

Not sure why they wouldn't use rods as well, but with all those SLS pieces it has to be more expensive than a Weistec blower which makes more power. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Just another guy with more money than brains.

Yes, SLS Heads, Cams, Valves...ETC. The goal was to reach maximum HP runin NA. Car is brutal running on pump gas.

Prob just wanted to stay N/A Click here to enlarge And as pricey as the SLS pieces are, that's the only way to get more power out of that engine (and with OEM AMG parts no less)

I can understand wanting to stay NA, the M156 is an amazing motor the likes of which we will probably never see again. But, with all those SLS parts that build has got to be more than $20k. I'm getting close to the same power gains with just a tune and headers for a fraction of the price. Just doesn't make sense to me.

"Head work" usually refers to modifying the heads....porting, polishing etc...not just swapping heads.

$8k for basically the entire SLS rotating assembly, and the SLS top end including heads, intake and air boxes, most likely have to have the engine out and then modify the hood, repaint, etc etc etc.....no way this build is anywhere near $8k.

I like that they are putting the M159 top end on the M156, I like that. What I really want to see is the SLS Black Series cams, heads, etc., on a non-black series M156/M159.

I just don't see SLS BS parts being something they keep their parts bin stocked with and they will be very expensive just like normal SLS parts. Hence my questions already posed here. And on that note - I called my buddy at MB to get a quote on the SLS heads and alone they were more than $8k so I'm not sure what these guys are talking about unless they are using parts off stolen cars lol.

Yeah but think about your average SLS owner...not really the performance enthusiast demo who are buying these cars. Most of which have no interest in mods. And even the C63 guy who wants to mod cannot afford it - so where does that leave us ? LOL

This is true but average guy with a 63 AMG won't be buying a blower either but they exist Click here to enlarge

I think the average AMG owner who is looking for big power would compare this mod that is clearly more than a blower and it would be a no brainer which one he would choose.
