HPF Turbo Kit, Stage 1, was $14k. Unless he's dropped it down.

It's not the Stage 1 kit that's so bad to think about for your wallet. It's Stage 5.

There are a couple successfully running but they are pretty far from what I would call a "turbo kit" for the M3.

Guys in South Africa called "SavSpeed" have made a kit and there were videos of it running on the dyno somewhere on youtube. It sounded NASTY

I thought they mothballed the project though...They've been working on that for years with the last video out in Oct. 2012...doesn't look like it's going anywhere fast.

I haven't heard anything out of them either, but I mean they are the only people I've seen run the car on a dyno and have video to go along with it. All the other cars that are apparently turbo'd are mythical creatures to me.

I tried getting ahold of savspeed about their turbo project and they never got back to me. Im guessing they ran into tuning/drivability issues that couldn't be resolved, or they didn't have the resources to resolve them.

Their is a thread on E46f saying that HPF is no longer in business as of today, and the employees were let go without a notice. Imagine spending all that cheddar on a kit and not having anymore support, damn.

Single turbo, tuned on stock dme, high expectancy of sales (300+), no fueling upgrades (maybe single intank upgrade).. then maybe.. MAYBE... but highly unlikely that it would be $12k. If you mean not including tuning as in hardware only.. then sure.
