Question regarding COBB datalogs
COBB Stage 2+ Sport with 93 octane.
Helix FMIC
DP's
Intake
CP DV's
1,000 mile stock turbos with the siren noise
So I took a log just now. I'm a year-long JB4 user so it's taking some getting used to. I'm not great with Excel, but I downloaded Zasquach's grapher tool. The only problem is I can't figure out how to show negative values, so my 1-6 timing corrections don't show in the graph. I believe I'm getting some corrections throughout the pull because certain cylinders will cut -3 mid pull if I look at the raw data. Is this what I should be looking at? I monitored all 6 cylinders for their timing corrections but just cyl1 timing.
Overall, how does it look? WGDC/boost issues or leaks?
Thanks
Nick

I'm guessing you're using one of the OTS Maps?? Also, I just quickly looked over it & noticed that you didn't maintain full throttle (99.61 Accelerator Pedal Position / 80.98 in TPS Actual) through the whole pull, which might of unintentionally of caused the late timing corrections.
Next time you log, try to make sure you have enough space to wind out all of 3rd gear from 2500 RPMs to just over 6k RPMs. By capturing that whole rev range, you give a complete data set to evaluate on the engine's performance.2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

Thank you. I'm pretty sure I was WOT, but maybe I took it off a little? Logs don't lie... don't know why that would have been. So what should I do about the corrections? Mix in some E85? I have to do this on Sport (91) octane map? Also what about WGDC?

Just keep running 93 & get a couple more logs. If you go up to the Aggressive map, a couple gallons of E85 will cure it (just make sure to keep an eye on your fuel trims & don't put it too much E85). I'm on my phone, I'll look at the WGDC tomorrow (if someone hasn't answered by then).

I haven't looked at your logs ( on an ipad) but you could also use the VD Graph, Virtual Dyno, which is what @rader1 used for his sticky above. I am sure you have, but read through that sticky it'll help you interpret your logs using COBB. Then hop over to ATR sticky to make adjustments if necessary. General rull of thumb is 3.38 corrections across 3 or less cylinders isn't necessary a bad thing. But yes adding E85 will clean up that noise. Me running ACN 91 I could really only run Drive mode, but added 20% E85 pump, 3 gallons, allowed me to run Aggressive MAPs no problem, with trims OK. I wouldn't add more unless you try the E30 MAPs. Or ProTune.

Here's what i'm seeing in the log.
You're having some overboosting going on and you'll notice that your timing corrections all occured while the car was backing off the throttle plate in reaction to those overboosts(that's what benzy was seeing and mistaked it for you backing off the throttle.) This is something i've seen before in several peoples logs, for whatever reason some cars will pull timing in response to an overboost and others won't.
If i was you i would fix the issue with overboosting first and see how the timing looks then. If i had to guess i would say it will help to clean up the logs pretty nicely... but that's just a guess.
Also, WGDC looks good to me.

If you have new turbos you will overboost on the OTS maps, ask me how i know =). You need to reduce your WGDC base table.

Thanks for the help guys. I just mixed in 2 gallons of e85 to try and prevent timing corrections, but I didn't know I was overboosting. I'm assuming as you said tight wastegates from the new snails, I need to compensate for this through ATR?

Ok, I have two more logs I just did. This is on Stage2+ Sport with 93 octane, and the map is modified. All I did was scale WGDC base by multiplying the entire table by .9 to attempt to fix the throttle closures. How do the logs look? I checked off Boost setpoint factor" and "MAF requested(WGDC)" in the settings so hopefully someone can help me dial out the throttle closures? Also, are the timing corrections of worry?
Thanks alot for the help guys, appreciate it. Still new to the COBB thing.

checking you first log... is your car an auto?
you need to put it in a manual, and log to above 6000 , may be 6300 next time.
You have timing corrections post shift, it seems.
Can you try next time a 3rd gear pull from like 2500/2800 to 6300? you started this log pretty late. go WOT at 2500/2800 don;t ease in to the throttle, just slam it (and make sure not to hit that button thing because it ll downshift)
let me look through the log nowSOLD — '07 E90 335i, PTF COBB E50, HFS4, ER CP, ETS 7", AA DP, Vishnu Exhaust, DCI, ACT, Nitto Nt555

Those post shift correction can be due to the throttle closure you had. I'd let someone with an chime in on post shift overboost.
btw, multiply your WGDC base by another 0.9 (or 0.95 for that matter).
I really think your timing corrections are due to overboost. your timing is pretty conservative and on 93 + E85 you should see none.. IF they are still there after you correct the over shoots and they are consistent then we'll talk about it.
I didn't look at your second log

Ok guys. I "think" I've sucessfully dialed out throttle closures/boost overshoots and I think my timing is OK. Can some of you COBB guys take a look for me? @benzy89 @rader1 @marv85
Thanks a ton guys. All I did was scale my WGDC main table and a few cells in it. Base map is S2+ Sport. 93 octane with 2gal E85 mixed in. Is my timing OK? Post shift?

Things look good, it's a little lean down low (not sure what your STFT/LTFTs look like because they weren't data logged), but you're def flat-lining post shift. Example, 1st log from cells 92-110 you're timing is all neg'd out.
Next time, maybe remove Boost Setpoint and one of the Lambda Banks for an STFT & LTFT when mixing E85 in to make sure your trims are in check. I know when I switch from my straight E85 map to my 93 map, if I leave too much E85 in the tank I sometimes lean out because the ethanol content is still too high while the fueling is programed for normal, 10% ethanol pump gas. Until my trims are both in check (25% or lower), I try to avoid excessive WOT pulls.2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)
