What Octane boosters do you use? Ethanol anybody?
Hi guys!
Just wondering what octane boosters/mixes are effective or works well.On the 335,octane was everything. With the 63,octane booster mades about 3-4 wkw on the dyno..
The fuel quality here in South Africa is pathetic to say the least. We have 95 octane but according to an article I read, that's equivalent to US 89 RON so needless to say, octane boosters is a must for us down here.
I stood and stared at the 60 litres of ethanol I have left over from the 335 and it got me thinking if any one uses ethanol or some other mix that helps to get octane up.If yes, what percentages as well?
Thanks in advance!

Race Gas works best on a non-modified fueling system, but light blends of E85 will free up some ponies & eliminate any timing corrections you're experiencing
If you can find out MON (Motor Octane Number) & RON (Research Octane Rating), you can determine what the equivalent US Octane is (the formula is (RON + MON)/2 to determine the US Pump Octane Rating)2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

Moved to general automotive.
I run meth but that's because I haven't explored E85 yet and also because I had a boosted high compression motor.
I'm looking to explore E85 more, becoming a bigger and bigger fan.
