might as well go ahead and do it...what does everyone in the area like as far as tunes...I know all the benefits and drawbacks of Cobb vs jb4...for now I just plan if full bolt on including meth, possibly going rb's down the line.

i just want to hear what the locals like haha

This... is a rather long answer. I suggest exploring the N54 forum.

I'm a couple hours south of DC so I'm going to speak for what most of those guys run, however from what I have seen Cobb is very popular up there. Not only that but you're local to Jake@PTF and he's probably one the best N54 tuners in the world.

There is a Dyno day at Moore's Automotive in Fairfax Feb 9th and the turnout is supposed to be pretty good. I'll be there and a few other local N54s will be too, if you wanted to come by meet and talk tunes or shoot the $#@! lol

I am in Montgomery County and + 1 on jake. I run JB4 G5 and my car is pretty damn fast, but jake has tuned a lot of the local guys on cobb, and their cars are just as fast as mine, if not faster. Zeel and a couple of others have been protuned by jake, so you might want to shoot him or myself a pm regarding the tunes. I've been a JB4 guy for years, but cobb is very impressive, especially with a protune thats been revised and tweaked by jake.

I've heard lots of good things about jake. Moore is a great little shop to dyno, I went a couple weeks back before I parted out my gti. A friend of mine just dynoed his Cobb its stage 2 135 and made 361/421

whats the pricing you guys got?

    I think it's $55 or $60 for three pulls.

also, moore is a load bearing dyno if i recall correctly. flash tune cars only dyno correctly on load bearing dynos. jb4/procede cars can dyno on basically anything i think lol.

Nah, Moore has a Dynojet. It's inertia based. Load based dynos are better tools for tuning but a dynojet is just fine for getting numbers

ah i see. I was going to say, all the cobb cars get horrible numbers when they dyno anyplace else, but when they go to moores, the numbers seem somewhat more realistic. (some place have cobb stage 2+ aggressive dynoing like 340whp, which sucks for that tune on a dynojet lol)

Moore's dynojet seems to be a but optimistic in general...at our vw dyno day, it seemed just about everyone was dynoing on the higher side of the typical numbers...I dynoed really high for my set up, but I went right after another guy running the same turbo and tune and I still made 10whp more haha. I will try and make it over there when you guys are there and get a baseline run in, assuming I'm able to pick up my 135 this weekend

Yeah, it reads high from what I've seen. I saw where a stage 2+ car made 430rwhp on their dyno, it's definitely optimistic lol
