I guess I should have made it more clear, the OTS map wasn't a stage 2 aggressive map (ots was a stg2 sport map)....still solid gains though. I never said stg2 aggressive in the beginning of the thread, I apologize if people didn't realize that.
What people will notice with a protune is how much better the car feels with optimized timing and whatever else he tuned. I've used the ots aggressive maps and they didn't feel like this. The power is a lot more useable at all rpms, it really transforms the drivability of the car.

How come you came on the dyno running the sport version of the stg2+ map and not aggressive? Did you have knock on the aggressive stg2+ with your octane? Just pointing it out as it'd make your starting baseline lower and a larger delta than if you had the OTS stg2+ aggressive on there to start out with.
Yep, Jake's in MD.

I was running that map bc my car didn't run well on the beta v4 aggressive tune....Cobb released it Out of beta with oscillation fix that day of my protune. Could I have had them flash it to the agg map and dyno...I guess but I really didn't think of it at the time. When I look at all the numbers of the dyno data base on their website, considering I dyNoed the car in 88 degree conditions, I'm very happy with the numbers. Not to mention this was the final pull after over a hour of tuning on the
dyno and a bunch pullsLast edited by bobS; 07-17-2012 at 01:44 PM.

LOL, #'s this and #'s that.
The one thing I learned about Bob over the past few years, is that he doesnt want or need to be the fastest, highest HP guy around (believe me, i tried)
His ultimate goal, is max hP (obviously) but with ZERO compromises on drivability, longevity, and safety. And if a few ponies less are achieved in doing that, Im pretty sure he is more than fine with it

We'll see, I still haven't given up hope that Cobb will unlock fueling options to get more power out of the rb's or a better TT / single turbo setup will emerge.

You're tapped out around 440-450 whp on 93 octane with RBs. To fully reap the benefits of those turbos you need meth or E85. I'd love for someone to prove me wrong.
On the flip side, you could keep your stock turbos, get a meth kit and lose 20-30 whp in the process, save about $4500 total installed.
Unfortunatrly, since jake and dzenno either do not have an RB turbo car OR E85 available to them locally, there won't be much movement on the E85 front until someone steps forward to be the guinea pig.
If 20-30 whp is worth $4500 installed to you, like I said, to each their own.
$3050 for RBs after domestic shipping
$1000 installation labor, MUCH more if xi.
$300 oil, coolant, installation parts
$300 core charge

I agree, 440-450 whp with power all over the curve and not dropping well before redline is nice. Now if we could get a little more with some tweaks from Cobb I'd be completely sold. Meth to me is just a headache but themyst is right, as of now it's the way to get the most bang for your buck with the RB upgrade...

On pump gas with RBs we're octane limited, not fuel limited. Adding more octane through race gas or E85 (if meth isn't your thing) will lift that number higher safely and with consistent results. I did manage to hit 470+whp (on a conservative dyno that baselines 275-280whp FBO stock boost on pump) but it was too aggressive for just pump gas IMO

Np. That's actually all @Mat Morkin , i'm just helping him out with advice from the tuning side and any questions he may have that i may have gathered over time in this 100lb big head of mine
Actually talked to him today for a bit on the train coming back from work. His kit should be a really nice upgrade provided everything works out, easier said than done of course. If/when it does get done I'd love to slap it on and give it a whirl for sure..as well as his intake mani

Any logs would be great for the community, i know you paid money to do this but dont be selfish share

Then you forget about the effects of heatsoak and rising cylinder temps on pump gas only RB car vs a stock turbo car with meth/water mix, so a stock turbo + meth car would sustain power in longer runs
We could go back and forth about this all day, but the end result is, getting RBs just to run them on pump gas is a waste of time for the money.
