Evotech Motorsport Stage II F10 550i N63 twin turbo V8 tuning hits 520 horsepower - Over 100 horses gained
N63 V8 tuning has been rather tough to come by. For now, Dinan has been pretty much the only option, at least in the USA. Evotech is not a USA based tuner (they are out of Germany) but it is nice to see the N63 getting more attention from various parties. This is a Stage II tune from them on an F10 550i put on their MAHA dyno. The baseline was 393.7, right inline with the crank rating, and the tune raised this to 522.4. Certainly impressive and we are starting get used to these MAHA dyno graphs.
These results lend optimism toward tuning on this on platform which so far seems to be stifled by software options. With more tuners in the mix, we should see bigger and better things from this motor soon.

Wow - nice gains. Do you know since this is stage 2 if there are other hardware mods that go along with the tune for these results? Also, any chance they will create a tune for US spec cars?

I must be retarded because I only see one dyno there where are y'all seeing the before dyno?? All o see is a dyno which shows them making 393Whp which is less than alextremo made with his stage 1 dyno and less than 10whp more than my stock dyno. Can't say I'm too impressed. However I have not gotten as used to reading these dynos as you sticky so I may be off but I see 393whp 507bhp and 522cbhp which is the same tune as everyone sells.

Iirc the first reddish line is the corrected bhp, the second is the bhp, the blue is whp and the green is the power lost due to parasitic drag. I've seen this dyno many times but I don't know how it pulls anything other than the whp. To me the other numbers are educated guesses. Still my point was that this is just one pull, in your OP you said it went from 393 crank to 522 crank bit that I don't believe is true I think this one pull registered 393whp which the computer guess at 522 corrected hp at the crank. For us to see how much was gained we'd need to see the stock dyno but since I assume the gains are not that flattering I think that's why it wasn't shown. I make this assumption based only of my stock dyno and a few others I've seen around which are very close in whp to this(30whp max).

WTF? There was two posts, did you delete one? Anyways I was saying that that's what I was saying in my first post in this thread. There is only one dyno pull on that graph and it's pretty useless without something to compare it too. Also 393whp isn't very impressive as there been higher results from alextremo on a Dinan stage 1 on a low reading dyno.

If they were the same number it is likely due to the posts auto-appearing as sometimes they will double. It is just a bug that can't seem to be eliminated and happens sometimes.
To say this we really need a baseline on that same dyno as it is just speculation.BRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped

So.. what my take-home lesson is I think....
Maha measures torque. The rest of the curves are calculations. The torque curve on the BMW shows turbos being maxed out, with torque peak at 3800-4200, then it dogs out like any stock turbo'd car with the boost cranked up. Great for low RPM rolls around town, passing on the highway/back straight, and getting out of the corners, but not so good for top end. I believe with all my hoping that the M version will come with bigger turbos for less torque fall-off in the upper RPM range, even when tuned. Because we all know they will be tuned to max out the turbos&fuel system. Would be nice to see the stage 2 or 3 tune not run out of airflow in the middle of the RPM range.Last edited by Impulsoren; 03-25-2012 at 04:43 AM.

Your analysis confirms what I've detected without any official dyno readings on all of the N63TTV8's I have owned/driven. My experience with tunes has been only with DINAN so far, but the Stage 1 DINAN did appear to have quite a bit more top end bite. That being said my F12 650i in stock form seems to be tuned a bit different from the other N63 engined car's i have owned. Stock the car is a beast down low - I am sure it will give my E92 M (ZCP/DCT) a run for its money 0-100..With DINAN Stage 2 not sure the e92 will see its taillights on the straights - but hey they are 2 different cars anyway...

How hard is to swap the turbos with bigger ones? At least the turbos that Alpina uses. Dinan tuned B7 makes 573hp, with a more aggressive tune and meth N63 will enter the 600hp range. Not a bad start if you ask me.
OT, anyone know anything new about the RDSport N63? They upgraded the turbos and claimed a +700HP power.
