PT6262 DBB T4 .58 Installed - From Maximum PSI

Saw this and thought it was interesting, not familiar with this turbo and it looks large:

Thanks to Mike Radowski and maximumpsi for sending me exactly what I wanted, and in just a couple days. It's a billet ball bearing PT6262 with the ported shroud cover, and Vband T4 .58 housing.



Overall, I am very pleased with this turbo so far. Its nice when things are brand new (I'm not use to that). This install was one of the easiest projects I've ever done with this car. Literally took me just a couple hours. Granted, I still need to install the charge pipe because the turbo output housing is larger than my old turbo and I don't have the larger coupler on hand.



This is one of the two reasons I'm replacing the turbo. I've been burning oil since the day I got the car (3 years ago!). Second; my exhaust A/R is tighter/smaller, like I wanted.



I had to remove some metal from the hot side in order to make room for the nuts to clamp down. There was not enough clearance for the nut to spin down on the stud.



Sorry, no test results yet. Multiplex teased that he'd be stopping by for some runs one night with his pos. Maybe he could do a little re-New-Sweden-tune?

This has become a very popular turbo lately, though there is quite a bit of debate on its merits versus non-ball-bearing Borg Warner turbos (which Geoff at Full-Race advocates).

The fastest BMW is Radowki's own ride, correct? The quickest is some BMW they built hitting low 9's, right?

Most people have a hard-on for billet compressor wheels, but the fact is, they are not economically feasible to produce in large quantities. In a small batched runs, they are cheaper than setting-up a full casting tool set, but for mass production, casting has the advantage in availability, consistency and price.

Mike does have the faster Mph in the 1/4 mile i believe. Both awesome cars.
