BimmerBoost 2011 SEMA BMW coverage, pictures and details
Well, SEMA 2011 is over with for us. We have tons of photos and will be splitting our BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes coverage up along with some bonus coverage. The show overall was great and seemed busier than last year. The photo equipment from last year is much improved but some photos are dark due to mistakes choosing the correct settings on the camera and flash. We promise to improve, enjoy the photos and commentary.
We hope these grills do not start catching on:
These wheels just don't work either in our opinion but the carbon pieces on this 3 fit quite well:
The rims on this M5 were a little too bling but the paintwork on the hood was gorgeous and overall this was a great looking E60:
Not feeling these rims:
This one looked great and was pretty aggressive. Wing may be a bit too much but the exhaust tips stood out nicely and the hood was aggressive:
The white rims actually worked better on this X5 M:
The body pieces on this F10 5 series were very well done but the rims on either side did not work. The green looked bad and the gold looked bad:
BMW bikes were in attendance as well and these S1000R's were sick:
These gold rims actually looked great in person adding contrast to the black car, it worked:
Body pieces on this 7 were great but the white lip would not be our choice. Still, the colors are coordinated well:
Overdone E60. Widebody work was decent but overall this is just way too busy:
ALMS M3 GTR needs no explanation:
Plenty of 1M's in attendance, H&R was showing off their product offering:
Supersprint BMW exhaust offering including the E82 1M and F10 550i:
M-tech style styling will be available for the F10 soon:
M3 fenders available for those who want to pretend to have one with either an E90 or E92:
Z4 that looks like it just came off the track with paint scratched up from what looks like rubbing the wall, respect:
GT Haus X6 M with blinged out rims, meh:
Mild E90 M3, fairly restrained:
Great looking E92 M3 (except for the calipers which stuck out like a sore thumb), diffuser looked awesome:
Graphics and hood take away from what would be a nice E60:
Overall a nice E92 M3, hopefully those stickers come off after the show:
If you want to show your car off at SEMA, the first step should likely be making sure it is and stays clean:
Plenty of 1M's in attendance, this one was our fave:
This was just horrendous, looks terrible. Note, painting accents a color that stands out isn't good modding. Especially when it makes your vehicle look like a clown car:
Hood on this E90 looked great:
This looked great, rims complimented the body color well:
We hope this car actually makes it out to the track or else this is completely riced out. The wheels make us think this all done for show, which is lame:
2002 badge on the back of this 1 series. Really? Come on.
This E90 definitely looked mean:
One of the coolest BMW's at the show. Not just blinged out crap but a BMW with some real changes under the hood. An E30 M3 with an LS3 and just look at how clean that engine bay is:
Couple of Turner Motorsport cars, congratulations to them for winning the 2011 Continental Tires Series GS class driver and team championships:
We hope these grills never catch on, leave them on Tahoe's and Silverado's where they barely even belong:

That E30 with the LS3 was on "Two Guys Garage" on Speed Channel. That is Kevin Byrd's personal project car, one of the show hosts.

dissapointed to say the least. seems bmw is the current jdm with overly aggressive and useless pieces, colors that dont flow or match. just enough to get your attention , but not enough to appreciate the individuality of it..

Definitely a little disappointed by this years BMW representation. Having owned our E46 M3 since brand new, there is no doubt that trends have changed a lot over the past decade. Some these paint schemes and modifications are even way too loud for me...and I have white TE37s on a JB E46 M3...haha
I really do like the Plate Forme AG E92 and E90 M3. Those care are run hard on the track.
Biglare's 1M sure looks nice a clean and probably makes a fun daily driver.
Seeing some of those F10s really continues to make me realize how good looking that car can be with the right mods. I'm pretty excited to see an F10 M5 on the streets and track one day.
And as everyone has already said, the LS3-swapped E30 M3 is probably the best BMW representation of the whole show.
Thanks for sharing Sticky. Great coverage.

These are show cars. I see it as being different from the norm. Otherwise, it is ok seen this before same $#@! different day. Its just that some simply dont have good taste. For instance the white/black race theme e46. It would look damn serious on a track but why is bling on a race car?
