    Insideline N20 dyno

233hp and 249lb-ft, this little engine is pretty underrated.

N20 turbo 4 cylinder dyno from Z4 sdrive28i put down 233 horsepower to the wheels, BMW continues to underrate turbo motors

Here is yet another severely underrated BMW turbo motor. BMW rates the Z4 Sdrive28i at 240 horsepower at the crank. Insideline tested the car on a dynojet and hit 233 horsepower to the wheels. To put things in perspective, BMW rates the motor the N20 replace, the N52 6 cylinder, higher than the N20 at 272 horsepower in its highest output form yet it dyno's less to wheels hitting the 199 rear wheel horsepower range. So not only is the N20 rated lower, it dyno's higher. BMW is hideously underrating their turbo motors.

I think this will be the next big tuner motor. I expect to see aftermarket turbos earlier than N54.

PLEASE PLEASE tell me if there can be a fueling solution for it to support single turbos.

see what's strange to me is the VW guys have solutions. APR not only came out with an upgraded HPFP for the fsi engine (now replaced by the tsi with no need for a better HPFP) but they also manufactured upgraded injectors, YES for DI! wtf? why cant a company do that for BMW? not enough market? it just doesn't make sense to me. i know they're complicated pieces but if a company can do it they would have a gold mine.

280 rwhp is a lot but the weight is slowing it down. I dont think if it's trapping 97 it will have enough room for that 4 cylinder turbo to bump it up to around 108 traps. I think this with FBO will probably be just like a GTI. the Gti stock does the 1/4 mile in 14.5@ like 99. With Full bolt on its like 13.5 @105.

Can't wait till ppl start modding and we get some 3rd party results!

I have a feeling this tuning this motor is going to become extremely popular due to the amount of people that buy x28i cars. Terry is going to make a killing on these. I have a feeling it might put out some decent number once tuned as well.
