New here please dont flame :)

    Hello!!

So I am sure you guys are so sick of this question it is insane, but I cannot seem to find an answer... I have a jb+ and BMS DCI... I want to up the tune as the jb+ does not cut it for me power wise... my 60-130 times are about 14 secs YIKES!! I was looking at the Cobb for ease of use and also the Jb4... I am limited to 91 octane, which tune would suit me better and which maps would I need to run for 91 ?

JB4, you wont gain anything with a cobb over your jb+

Not sick of it at all, welcome.

The Cobb can be stacked with the JB+ I think but if you are getting power hungry why keep waiting for the Cobb Stage 2 which you would no doubt want when there are other solutions available?

Definitely go for the JB4 or Proceed. Both options are good. I personally have the JB4 and love it. It has never failed me, plus the steering wheel controls are awesome. GL on whatever tune you decide to go for.

This is very true, and that is something I did not consider. I was leaning toward the Jb4 seeing as how it is highly touted as a great pnp tune... so if I am just running 91 octane, which map would be best to use?

so far You guys have been much more helpful than weeks of E90 post... no one was evening reading my question there, just telling me to buy their products.

If you are going to run 91 oct all the time. I recommend you use Map 1, it targets 13psi. It is fairly quick for daily driving. That's what I have my car on all the time, since all I have down here is 91 oct also. Sometimes I may switch to map 2, but not recommended if you don't have all supporting mods. Your car will make around 370-380whp with full bolt ons in map 1, not bad if you ask me. If you look around, you'll find a few posts from Terry with dyno graphs, showing different power levels the N54 will make in certain maps and bolt ons.

E90post is just one giant sales ad, and a poor one at that.

Not sure but might want to ask Terry about that. You also may want to consider meth.

Depends on your needs. If you bought the JB+ from us or an authorized dealer within the last 6 months you get 100% trade up credit towards the JB4. Click here to enlarge

For 91 octane you'll probably prefer map 5.

yah I just have DCI and the exhaust flap opened LOL... with the jb4 I will need to undo the solenoid bypass as well correct? Also would you have any idea why in the hell my 60-130 time is so horrid with the jb+?

this is what i was gonna say, but as T suggested, map 5 is the perfect fit for you.

also take into consideration how quickly each tuner has gotten back to you on your question. you can expect that kinda service for the entire time you own your car Click here to enlarge

Haha, I like the title! Not to fear, BB is a friendly community and wont bash you for asking questions. Try and do a search whenever you are currious as well though just incase the topic has been covered or if it is a common situation in question. Hope you like it here!

Well I talked to their BMW/Mini tuner the other week. He was offering the stage 2 tune to my buddy. Problem was my buddy has a stock 335is, no supporting mods. They are running it on their shop cars, so I don't think it is far off. I think they are trying to get a couple more local cars, to make sure it is ready for prime time.

Welcome to an awesome forum. I started off completely knew but everyone has taught me a lot. I was trying to decide between different tunes in just a few months ago, and after reading all the different pros and cons of the different tunes, I went with the JB3 (that was the newest one then). I haven't regretted a bit of the money either. Terry has helped me through EVERYTHING that is related to my car. Customer service-wise you won't find anyone better and more knowledgeable (even though I wish he would spend more time for 5's Click here to enlarge hehe). Plus the autotune feature in the JB4 saves ALOT of hassle. I could go on and on about how awesome it is, but really, you won't know until you plug it in and just stomp on the pedal. It's amazing! you wont be able to uninstall a cobb tune no? Why not just get the JB4 and have the flexibility of uninstalling it whenever you want, plus you can customize the JB4 map with map 6 incase you decide you want more power. You are sort of locked down with a cobb tune, which is why I like my JB4. But some people like flash tunes for whatever reason, I dont know.

Welcome to the forum, no one is going to flame you here. No one is going to moan at you to use the search function every post you make.

DPFIU, You can un install the cobb tune with the cobb handheld device, maybe your thinking of the GIAC, like i have. I have to go to a GIAC dealer to get it taken off completly, but I just flash to "stock map" when I take the car to the dealer and haven't had a issue.

OP it all depends on what your looking for. The jb4/procede allow you to customize a lot of features, maps, settings, etc. A flash doesn't allow you to mess with anything. Most tunes offer a money back trial period so try one out and if you dont' like it, send it back.

    Good luck.
