The Ford Mustang is going hybrid and that likely surprises nobody as much of the automotive industry is headed in that direction. A Mustang without a V8 would certainly be missing something but thankfully the V8 will stay.

It will be part of a hybrid drivetrain though which will preserve the engine sound and feel to a degree which is a big part of the Mustang GT experience in particular.

The Ecoboost 2.3 liter I4 will also gain a hybrid setup according to this timeline that leaked out from a Ford engineer:
