Strongest DI only K20C? 602 whp Honda FK8 Civic Type R with Full-Race turbo kit

This is quite possibly the strongest FK8 Honda Civic Type R or K20C I4 that is making its power solely with the direct injection fuel system. That means no supplemental port fuel injection or methanol injection for additional fuel.

Incredible power from the 2.0 liter (please excuse the low resolution dynograph):

goal was to make 600hp. Using our FK8 turbo kit paired with a garrettmotion G-Series 25-660 he was able to accomplish that without adding port injection or meth.

Might be tough to put that power and torque down with FWD but it goes to show what a potent motor and platform the FK8 and K20C are.

The Type R has the K20C1 engine.

The F20C came in my AP1 S2000. Both awesome engines but big difference.

And these engines are great. Very reliable even at these high power and I have been amazed what they can do with DI only. Honda really built some headroom into these things.
Puts the Focus RS with headgasket issues to shame lol.

I just wish this thing came in AWD (or RWD) I might own one. I just really don't like high HP fwd even though I know they can still be very fast.

Yeah that thing is amazing. I always lusted after the Atom 500 V8 but this new 4 is more mod friendly and can for sure be made faster.

How much of a pain are they to be made road legal in CA? Don't you have to build it yourself then and register as a kit car? Or do you just have to source the drivetrain separately?

More reliable, lighter, better fuel efficiency, and a robust aftermarket. It's high on my list but it's something you have to pay cash for.

Not as bad as you would think. The SB100 process at the DMV is pretty simple. One of the few cool things about the California DMV.
