Toyota to phase out V8's in next three years for twin turbo V6's
Toyota and Lexus are still stuffing naturally aspirated V8's into their premium and 'high performance' products. Their cars do not match the competition in output and Toyota is not boosting their UR V8 architecture but instead looking at a new line of turbocharged GR series V6's.
You can expect a 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 to be the top dog which should provide plenty of punch considering what Ford showed the world their 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 is capable of.
Knowing Toyota, they will use this new boosted V6 in everything which will be good for tuners and the aftermarket.
This info is not confirmed. Also, what happened to that Lexus twin turbo V8?

Its probably an ok move for their "sporty" "high performance" cars.
But I read this also means they are getting rid of the V8 in the Land Cruiser/LX570 which is just retarded.
The LC/LX's are supposed to last a million miles and no TT V6 or V6 hybrid is going to do that.
