XDI (Xtreme-DI) targeting Mercedes-AMG 4.0 M177/M178 and 5.5 M157 market with their upgraded HPFP direct injection fuel pumps

Earlier this month an article covered that XDI (Xtreme-DI) was developing two high output HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) pumps for the BMW N55 and S55 platforms. Well, these pumps will also apply to the Mercedes-AMG 4.0 liter M177, M178, and the 5.5 liter M157.

This likely also means the Mercedes M176 engine as well.

Why is this important? Because of the big power available for these motors with turbo upgrades an upgraded high flow HPFP will allow greater fueling headroom with more power when say running 100% E85.

The specs are the exact same:

The first is XDI-HPFP-35 with a claimed 35% increase:

The XDI-HPFP-35 is the first High Flow High Pressure Direct Injection pump to replace Bosch, Denso, Magneti Marelli and Delphi pumps.

It is capable of up to 200bar / 2900psi injection pressure.
It flows up to 35% more when mounted on the same cam lobe.

The second is the XDI-HPFP-60 with a claimed 60% increase:

The XDI-HPFP-60 is the bigger brother of the XDI-HPFP-35. Since it was designed based on the same flexibility criteria as the XDI-HPFP-35, it can be mounted on almost all the same engines.

It is capable of up to 240bar / 3500psi injection pressure.
It flows up to 60% more when mounted on the same cam lobe.

Based on the price of Ford Ecoboost offerings the XDI-HPFP-35 should run roughly $1850 and the XDI-HPFP-60 roughly $2850.

Hopefully we see some results soon.

is this the only after market HPFP for the M177? I was really looking forward to this, but seeing that it is literally the lowest priority for XDI does not make me hopeful that we will ever see this in real life.
