The new Ford Ranger is a hot seller because not only is the truck a great value in the US pickup truck market the 2.3 liter Ecob oost I4 is an efficient and potent powerplant. Turbo torque is a wonderful thing so do not let the small displacement fool you.

BMS picked up very nice gains with their JB4 tune:

This motor is obviously more about torque down low than top end power as it is meant to be a truck that can do work and tow but it does make 320 horsepower to the rear wheels at 5410 rpm.

Map 5 produced 372 lb-ft of torque at the wheels at 3400 rpm.

Very, very nice gains out of this motor on ~93 octane.

Baseline was 267whp / 306wtq which was about what I expected given the larger heavier tires on it. Stepped up through the various map profiles all the way up through map5 which peaked at around 319whp / 372wtq. Boost, timing, and air/fuel looked solid through the runs with minimal knock count observed. Overall, all good stuff with ~50whp and ~70wtq gains!
