How about a set of composite (carbon forged) pistons to pair with your carbon connecting rods?
The idea of composite engine internals is intriguing for several reasons. Those reasons that apply to the connecting rods such as the composite material not fatiguing like metal over time or losing shape also apply to pistons.
Obviously heat will also not have the same effect on the carbon composite material as on metal.
Who is using these in an actual application though?

This would be cool. Wonder if they need ceramic coating on the tops and maybe around the rings/skirts?
It does seem less likely to scuff piston walls and probably expand/contract less than forged aluminum pistons so hopefully less oil burning and wallowing out the cylinder bores.
