C8 Z06 spy shots actually Corvette E-Ray hybrid? 600 horsepower all wheel drive Corvette

Some conflicting info out there regarding these spy shots. Obviously the C8 in the photos is heavily camouflaged but Car and Driver states it is the C8 Z06 model while GM Authority believes this is what will be called the 'E-Ray' hybrid.

Who is right? Only GM knows but considering the eroding credibility of car magazines in this day and age and the pressure on OEM's to produce hybrids we think GM Authority has the scoop.

What is expected? A standard Corvette with electric motors and batteries up front. The electric motor units are expected to boost horsepower to the into the 600 range. Torque should increase by over 100 lb-ft as well.

How much weight will this system add? Good question. How much will cost? Another good question.

Frankly, we do not have much to go on but a hybrid Corvette is inevitable.
