    Deleting Porsche 911/991.2 sunroof?

I hate the sunroof in my car. Don't want it. Don't need it. It just adds weight at the top of the car.

@3DMetal told me it was possible to delete it.

Anyone know how? Is this hard to do?

    New roof panel.
    Correct headliner.
New Center console switch kit without sunroof controls ( ~ $179 iirc )

Windshield and rear glass will have to be removed, and reinstalled.
So add the price of the window seal inserts and a glass installers time.

Parts likely available through a dismantler .. or maybe just swap with another owner that wants a sunroof.

Ugh... sounds like I should just leave it in place and get over it.

GMG used to do these conversions.
Going to be a 3k affair unless you find someone to swap with.

I'd rather just trade the car in then and get one without a sunroof.

I'll live. I'll just add enough power to not think about it.

I didn't get the sunroof in my car for the same reason but in addition to adding weight up high they tend to leak over the years.
I don't care about sunroofs at all, not sure why they are so ubiquitous nowadays.

My friend has something just like that for his Subaru. I think it might even be lighter than the roof panel without a sunroof even.
If sticky got this and then just swapped the headliner with a non sunroof car it could be a good option as long as you don't mind the look of the CF panel on top.
If you have a black roof already it would be hardly noticeable.

I'm just going to come to terms with the fact this car is not exactly how I wanted it specced. Next time, I'll order it and pick it up in Germany.

No Porsche spec will ever satisfy you. Welcome to the machine, you are stuck for life riding this carousel. Few ever escape off to realize other manufactures don't nickle and dime you to make up for under optioned cars. How many AMG or M customers spend as much time whining about options or configurations. You're focused on the next car more than you are on enjoying the current. Almost addicted to the chase and anticipation of the order.

EURO delivery is definitely the way to go. 7% discount pays for the whole trip and you get to drive it as fast as possible on the autobahn.

Anyone know if I can use this roof panel to make this work? What else would I need?
