If you guys want to do this, I'm game. My mechanic charged me $250? for the install on my N52. I'm going to do these, a Pure turbo inlet and a @BPC Tune on a EWG M235i 6speed.

I start with new BMW OEM support parts, 6 of them, one for each set of intake valves and machine them in 6 different steps/sites, to allow a greater ratio of lift for the same intake cam and eccentric cam lift. It is like adding a greater rocker ratio. Net result is just over 1mm additional intake valves lift d 2-3* more intake duration. Ist like adding a mild cam but way easier. Can be done by diy'er or shop. Install tool makes much easier and less chance of stripping spring bolt.
    Buy from site

    Thanks for your interest,

He and his brother started their own tuning and fabrication shop that does more than just BMWs.

    Greetings from the dark side...

Any movement here? I've gone FBO / MHD 2+ in my N55 EWG car. Really looking forward to seeing some MILV results in this motor. Might go on ahead and guinea pig it myself. I've made a new local friend who is close with Ken & Wedge.

Talk to Bob, otherwise if your tuner knows how to work them, let’s see what they can do.

    A PM Conversation-

I have sold several sets to N55 owners and some high hp S55 guys and they made big power but did so many mods at once it was hard to tell what was really from the MILVs.

BPC on a N55 found more mid range power and less drop off in power in the upper rpm range but no increase in peak power. The area under the curve was greater and they commented that the car felt more powerful and pulled harder and was more fun to drive.
IDK if it is the stock turbo maxing out or the fuel system maxing out.

    Marty
    Hey Marty!

One thing I've learned about these turbo cars so far is that the DMEs are targeting a load, not a boost point. So I think in theory, an N55 car with MILVs installed might make the same peak power as one without, but at a lower boost level. Which is still, obviously, a good thing! But it makes A/B comparisons difficult. You gotta juice the tune up more if you want more power. It would still be nice to see more area under the curve.

Even on later N55s with the electronic wastegate and the accompanied larger turbocharger, the turbo runs out of steam before the fuel system. So MILVs *ought* to equal more power to some degree, at least at the limit of the stock turbo system.

    I really like the website.

Well only some tunes target load. JB4 targets boost, OTS MHD target load, custom tunes can be based on wgdc target. If you slap them in and don't change anything on the tune, yes not much will happen. But you can still have a load based tune that takes advantage of these.
