Backing up GPS testing on the strip and setting the new 2.5 TFSI factory turbo record - APR tuned TT-RS runs 9.7@139
Backing up GPS testing for legitimacy on the track is how it's done. GPS numbers are one thing and doing it on the dragstrip with NHRA timing equipment is another. Ideally you want record numbers on both and that is exactly what we have here from this TT-RS.
As you may recall this TT-RS ran 60-130 in 5.97 seconds and the Drag GPS box showed 9.75 @ 140.16 for the 1/4 mile.
As tends to happen the real world time slip has a slightly lower trap speed:
But the elapsed time is right on the money.
The car is incredibly consistent too.
As for the mods, APR says they are extensive and weight loss is definitely playing a large role:

Thanks for the write up.
Just want to point out that the trap speed wasn’t lower at the dragstrip because of a difference between the dragstrip’s timing equipment and GPS. The trap was lower because the previous 9.75 runs on the street were in much lower DA. On the night I ran 9.75 at the dragstrip, the Dragy reported nearly identical trap speeds as the strip’s timeslips.
Here’s my mod list. To me it’s not really “extensive” since they’re all just simple bolt ons.
Mods:

Custom Code TCU tune
APR DP
APR turbo inlet pipe & intake
SRM/Eurocode TB inlet pipe
SRM/Eurocode intercooler
Iroz DSG Catch Can

Rota Slipstream 16x7 wheels
