Anyone care? Probably not because Mercedes themselves did not take the SLC seriously. How so you say? The SLC which formerly was the SLK actually was a potent little car at one point. Mercedes-AMG offered real AMG versions which offered some serious performance making for a pocket hot-rod.

Not so with the R173 SLC. It received no real AMG version or motor. Do not claim the SLC43 is a real AMG car because it simply isn't.

Anyone remember the SLK55 AMG? You know, with its 5.5 liter V8? Imagine an SLK63 AMG with the M177 V8. A TT-RS rival you say? Yes indeed. A shame Mercedes for some reason decided not to compete with this generation.

Goodbye SLC. Honestly, you won't be missed and it is not surprising there are no plans for a successor.
