2013 335xi N55 F30 Stage 2 Fuel Pump DIY
I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this subject. I modified a fuel pump bucket from stock to a stage 2. I talked to Tundra on this a bit but he hadn't done an F30/N55 style bucket before. Basically what I see as the only difference between the E90/N54 assembly is the fuel pressure sensor on my assembly. Currently I cut half of the bottom off of my bucket and split the fuel pump bracket inside to accommodate the slightly larger diameter Walbro 450 LPFP. I then attached a Holley Hydramat to the bottom of the pump so minor changes really. The Hydramat sits on the bottom of the tank.
The fuel pressure sensor is connected only to the fuel filter housing which is attached to the tophat so I don't see any reason you can't make a bucketless bracket for dual Walbros with the fuel pressure sensor attached to the side of the bracket. I don't throw any codes with my single Walbro, may throw a code with a second Walbro though at pressure rises further. I do get a code showing up on my JB4 software for fuel plausibility and fuel level, I thought I thought my level sensor was hitting the Hydramat but it isn't so I'm not sure what's causing that.
The alternative, which is what I will do if I need additional fueling with my turbo upgrade will be to hang a second Walbro on the outside edge of my current bucket, I will be making a bracket out of pps.

Thanks for the bump! I am planning to add PI with the single Walbro initially and then add a second Walbro if it's needed with a Hobbs switch. I will start at 600hp and if everything is looking good move up to 650hp. I am running about e50 now and plan to continue to run e50 so I will see if it can support 600hp with the single Walbro and PI initially and then move on from there.
I am still planning to build a bucketless pump setup for dual Walbros but I will probably build a dual Walbro setup with a modified stock bucket as well in case I have issues with the bucketless.
Hey...
