m50b25 with m52b28 single vanos internals
hello, I'm currently building an e36 deathkart. I was first going to go with a stock m50b25 after some discussion they got me wanting to go turbo on it. So i did a bit researching and a person told me to take the cast iron block of a m50b25 and all the internals and head from a m52b28 single vanos for quicker spool and he told me it would be stronger. any opinions on that idea? Maybe experience with a build like said? any help would be appreciated.

Since you refer to block material i take it you are not from US and have aluminum block M52, right?
You can do anything you want with the combo you have. You can use just the M50 block with everything else from the M52. You can throw your M52 internal in the M50 with M50 head etc...
The major two factors here are the cams and the electronics. Obd2 nature of the m52 is more advanced and gives you more tuning options while the M50 cams are better (240 degree vs 228). Vanos doesn’t play much of a role here.

sorry for the late reply, but yes I'm from europe so we have the m52 aluminum blocks. Thats why I wanted the iron block of the m50. Just a quick question, so I can take a m50 make it all empty and transfer everyting over, so crank bearings too or do I need to keep those from the m50, since a friend of my has a m50 laying arround with bad bearings, we don't know if it's rod bearings or crank bearing or both. he says if I want the block I should take it and give everything back but the block, but like I said if I need those crank bearings I'm better of looking for another one. Thanks for your help
