Schmiedmann Stage 4 tuned BMW F82 M4 DCT on E85 vs. manual C7 Corvette Z06

The Corvette Z06 in stock form is very potent with its 650 horsepower LT4 supercharged 6.2 liter V8. The automatic models are quicker than the manual but from a roll shift speed is not as important as top end power as you spend more time in the higher gears.

Not that quick shift speeds hurt as this DCT M4 shows. What does hurt is the big wing the M4 is wearing. A ton of drag which does not help performance.

Yet, despite the drag, the M4 quickly makes up ground on the Z06 and pulls. The Z06 getting a nice lead partially thanks to the instant torque from the positive displacement blower.

What does the Schmiedmann Stage 4 S55 upgrade constitute? Upgraded turbos, exhaust changes, upgraded intercooler, and an E85 tune in this case. As well as an upgraded Stage IV fuel system courtesy of Fuel-It! to be able to run straight E85.

A fast M4 for sure and if the Z06 intends to take it he is going to need some upgrades of his own.

That z06 sounds *GREAT* in the first bit of footage outside. Oh and in this third scene in the z06. boy it sounds amazing.

As magical as the S55 motor is despite its supposed flaws, It's nice to see with custom turbos (Do we know if they are hybrids, or are they using something larger) it can move pretty well, even with a giant wing.

I am curious to see what it would take for the z06 to answer back with either a tie or to walk away. The z06 is about the same weight as a m4, maybe a tiny bit lighter, but its got double the base displacement of the BMW. Could you imagine if the z06 was offered with turbos from the factory somehow, maybe with a hot V (lol) oh boy I know what I'd buy if it existed.

    Great race!

Hybrids as I understand it. @-Schmiedmann- knows the answer.

Pulley & tune, and it would be game over!

So what I see here is a m4 with all the upgrades and e85 barely pulling a stock 7mt z06 on pump gas. Is this supposed to be an accomplishment for the bmw? I would have hoped for a bigger gap. And fwiw, that wing isn't a big handicap, the z06 has major down force, more than almost any other car last I read, it makes it great for the track but is a liability for drag racing was my understanding, so more like equal footing there.

I don't think anybody is saying it is a huge accomplishment but just good to see the Z06 used as a benchmark.
