BMW F-Series OBD-II port ECU flashing finally cracked - No more physical Siemens ECU unlocking necessary for F80 M3/F82 M4, F87 M2, F10 M5, F13 M6, etc
Tuners have flashed F-Series BMW models for some time now but they would require physical access to the ECU. That means you would have to remove your engine management computer and get it to the tuner somehow.
After they unlocked it, you could flash it. Well, no more. The F-Series is officially cracked with OBD-II tuning.
This means you can expect hand held flashing systems to come to market shortly. BimmerBoost will be detailing some of these systems in a subsequent article. Several tuners have contacted this site already on this topic:
We are about to launch a new chiptuning product for the latest versions of the BMW Fxx series that will undoubtedly be of major interest to your subscribers.
For those keeping score, the Infineon F-Series ECU's were first unlocked in December of 2014. It took three years to go from there to OBD-II port flashing.

Hell yea, perfect timing that I just got my M4. I really did not want to send my ECU out to anyone.

Ehh to be honest the R8 that I wanted was in NC and it's not easy or cheap to get that finalized and shipped here. I just found a great deal on the M4 and I honestly couldn't pass it up. 2015 M4 6MT in Silverstone metallic. It will be for more development and new parts for the market

Man this is a great time to own an F series car!
Hope that brings more tuners to the game and more tables being discovered, and not to mention more features being developed.

Man am I excited! It'll help me save a few bucks in having the ecu unlocked lol!
I wonder if MHD or bootmod3 can incorporate this technology some how. Otherwise Im pretty excited to see how this all plays out.

Awesome! I did a quick google search and it seems mission performance are the ones developing this tech, are they going to keep it for themselves or are they going to share?
All I really want is a simple flashing solution without and ecu unlock lol. I wonder what this means for piggy backs?

Most likely, it should be all F series and the m2 is an n55 so most likely the f30 (n55) will get it too. Not sure about the N20 or B series motors though. Probably not B series because it's a newer and different ecu.

I hope with more tuning options available these cars can be tuned even better (by having more tuners willing to work on this platform) to incorporate things like light weight rods, pistons and flywheels without rev hunting on idle. Also it'd be cool if we could tune for larger cams and closed deck blocks without having to rely on ecu auto adjustments or dulling the knock tables.

If this is true, you missed out on a bunch of advance sales by not partnering with BM3 at the very least. I know I would put BM3 on my car if I could do it via obd2 without the bench flash. Now a competitor (maybe) has this out as well, and might partner with other tuners and offer a 'cost effective' solution well in advance of yours, if you do one.
Also what is with the requirement of your software that the host must use DHCP.
Also, google says you didn't make some of the pages on your website relating to the FXX obd2 flasher before NOV 30th. Even the news post on your website about the FXX flasher being available is dated DEC 1.
If you had a solution available by your tools for 5 months, you are terrible at product promotion, like, incredibly bad. However I think you are just lying about the 5 month thing.
Even CMDFlash is just now announcing full obd2 based flashing, prior to that you needed the BMW Fxx PWD plugin, which requires drilling/removal.f82 M4
