Whipple Gen 3 2.9 liter twin screw results on a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V LT4 - 748 rwhp on 93 octane pump
It looks like tuners are starting to get more results with the new third generation 2.9 liter Whipple twin screw supercharger. General Motors will not admit it but the Eaton TVS1740 supercharger on the LT4 engines is simply too small and quickly is pushed out of its efficiency range.
A 2.9 liter twin screw is a much bigger blower capable of moving much more air. Just look at the result on this 2016 third generation Cadillac CTS-V with these mods:
• Whipple 2.9L Supercharger System
• Vengeance Racing CNC Ported LT4 Cylinder Heads
• Vengeance Racing Stage II Camshaft Kit
• Vengeance Racing 4" Cold Air Intake System
• ATI Balancer with 18% Lower Pulley
• American Racing Longtube Header System and X-Pipe
• American Racing Axle-Back Muffler System
• Vengeance Racing Custom Valve Covers w/ Coil Relocation
That is at only 14 psi on 93 octane pump fuel. No octane booster or methanol. Simply regular fuel.
That also means there is quite a bit more in it for someone who wants to raise boost on E85 or race gas. Going deep into the 8XX+ range with this setup should not be a problem. Vengeance Racing hit 900+ whp with this same blower on other LT4's.
Take a look at the extremely well done video below. Other tuners should take notice that this is how it is done.
