Drag and roll races between the Audi RS3, A45 AMG, Civic Type R, Golf R, and Focus RS

This is your new class of hot hatchbacks. All of them are turbocharged but there are differences among them. For one, the RS3 has the largest motor with a 2.5 liter I5 and it also has the most power. It shows. None of these other cars can hang with it.

The A45 AMG of course is all wheel drive with a dual clutch transmission and a 2.0 liter turbocharged M133 powerplant. Producing 381 horsepower it is the most powerful production four-cylinder on the planet.

The Golf R is also all wheel drive with a dual clutch transmission and a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder but the engine is much, much weaker. Good thing it responds well to tuning.

The Focus RS does not offer a dual clutch transmission but is manual only because it is a driver's car. So what if it isn't the fastest? It is the enthusiast's choice.

There is also the Civic Type R which is a Honda boy racer's dream. With 306 horsepower and front wheel drive it does not fair well in the drag race.

Let's take a look at the results.

    Drag Race:

    1. RS3 - 12.2
    2. A45 - 12.9
    3. Focus RS - 13.5
    4. Civic Type R - 14.0
    5. Golf R - 14.0

    Roll Race:

    1. RS3
    2. A45
    3. Civic Type R
    4. Focus RS
    5. Golf R

No trap speeds as usual and racing in the wet so the all wheel drive cars were favored but it is what it is.
