    C&D 2017 Honda Civic Type R test results - 3111 lb curb weight, 0-60 in 4.9, 1/4 mile in 13.5@108

Here are the test results from Car and Driver for the new 2017 Honda Civic Type R. How does it do? Well, it is fairly light at 3111 pounds and for a front wheel drive handles quite well. It sticks to road as the skidpad shows 1.02g.

The brakes are very good as well as the stopping power gets the car from 70 miles per hour to zero in 142 feet. Good braking feel, good handling, and overall a nimble package.

The 306 horsepower turbocharged 2.0 liter engine provides pretty good performance. A 1/4 mile time of 13.5 @ 108 isn't much in this day and age but this is a front wheel drive Civic we're talking about. That will not put it ahead of its rivals in outright speed and it will not win a drag race against all wheel drive competition but from a roll it should put up a fight.

As far as the styling, well, if you're really into boy racer Civics this is the perfect car for you. Anyone over 25 years old would probably feel like a tool getting out of it.

Is it worth the $34,775? Maybe. It definitely isn't worth the $60k some people are trying to get for it.

It looks like a pretty cool car. For the right buyer at 35k not bad.
