MHD with boostbox
hi everyone
the target of this post it so understand how newby like me need to start tuning the car with boostbox. Please correct me in anything i'm wrong or point me to any source you think i should read first(i read a lot already), thanks in advance
i have started looking at pid tables yesterday and here is what i concluded.
stock behavior is the following right? you reach boost target, dme cuts the power to solenoids and waste-gates open and it goes below target, power is enabled again, you go up again and so one, of course controlled by PID.
single turbo works the following way. waste-gate by default is closed(unlike stock vac controlled one) and if you want to go above the spring pressure you will need mac solenoid to be open(power sourced) so pressure will force spring not to open the valve. when you reach your target mac solenoid will close the boost(when dme cuts the power) source and throw pressure out from wg so wg will open a bit(due to pressure is more than spring pressure in it) and you go below the target it enables MAC again and you again build a bit more and so one. this is all considering that mac solenoid is connected the way that pressure source is connected to port 1 and port 3 is for blowing air off.
if i understood it correctly from DME point of view the logic remains the same, the difference is how we treat the logs. means if in logs we see wgdc = 15 in logs this means turbo building boost hardly(ST case). as a result we will need to have higher wgdc base numbers for proper working turbo and lower boost.
can we achieve correct log treatment by just connecting mac solenoid input to port 3 and use port 1 for blow off the pressure ???
correct me if i'm wrong in anything above.Last edited by taron; 07-04-2017 at 03:53 PM.

Sorry I missed this over July 4th. Bumping.
From what I've read Boostbox tuning has been mixed but I don't have any hands on experience to share. Someone will though.BRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped
