bootmod3 Custom Tuning
As we're getting very close to the open beta release thought we'd throw together a screenshot of the map editor that will soon make it to a wider audience. What you see below is an editor that will come up for any bm3 user when/if they wish to take things into their own hands, or, work with a tuner of their choice.
For those comfortable enough to have fun in the editor you'll have access to close to 300 tables to adjust all of the tune aspects we also tune with for our OTS maps. Every table we touch will be part of the editor. Any new advances made will also be exposed to the editor on an ongoing basis. On the tuner front, we've built a feature into it to allow the end user to send their stock or tuned map to a registered tuner of their choice. Any current licensed bm3 user can register themselves to be a tuner. Those without an existing BM3 license will also be able to purchase a tuner specific license which doesn't require a DME unlock of their own car to offer assistance in tuning any given bm3 user seeking out their help.
More to follow on that very soon. We can't wait to cut a first open beta release for everyone looking to use it. We're hoping for lots of feedback and everyone is welcome :drink:With ultimate power comes ultimate responsibility...and good times

PTF Bootmod3 offering users ability to custom tune ECU maps on their own - F-Series S55, N20, N55, S63TU motors
This is a pretty big development in the flexibility of the Bootmod3 software. If you are a PTF (Pro Tuning Freaks) customer you will soon have access to an editor which will allow you to tune on your own or have a tuner offer you a custom professional tune.
The details below are from PTF but essentially if you are a licensed BM3 user you can register yourself as a tuner and tweak to your heart's content. Those who are not registered users can purchase a tuner license.

Oops my bad, I didn't read the title.
Does that mean no N54 or E series N55 support?
Still cool. No needing to take out the DME to get it flashed first right?

Will there be an incremental fee to register as a tuner above and beyond the original license purchase?
The current license cost for BM3 for the S63TU is $895 USD

This is impressive! I have been reading so much information about back end flashes and PTF seems to be an undeniable leader in the field.
Estimated power increase for a F10 N55 JB4 FBO?
Anyone know of a licensed BM3 N55 tuner near Tampa/Sarasota?

Love it! I was really looking forward to getting BM3, and even more so, now. I am happy that you are allowing the users to take tuning into their own hands, at their own risk. It will be nice to have the freedom to take the tuning process into your own hands or give that ability to the tuner of your choice. The price point of the BM3 is great as well!

Hey guys, I am a Bootmod3 user in the N55 and can tell you a few things.
Yes web-based, works on Mac (run the agent.jar on Mac) and you will get a Pop-up showing you if its connected to car, etc.
For windows pretty much the same,
https://bootmod3.atlassian.net/servi...a-308bb69927b7
BD Agent software can be used on your laptop instead of the WIFI enabled bootmod3 hardware device.CONFIGURATION
You’ll need the following to set the agent up:
- Laptop – any running Windows / macOS / Linux / Unix
- OBD ENET cable connected from laptop to the vehicle’s OBD port
This is a commonly used BMW coding cable available on Amazon.com/Ebay for about $16-$20 - agent.zip – bootmod3 agent software, link to latest here:bootmod3 software release notes & updates
- Make sure you have Java installed on your laptop. If not then download and install from here:https://java.com/en/download/AGENT STARTUP
- Ensure your laptop is connected to the OBD port using the above mentioned ENET cable (OBD to ethernet).
- If using a laptop without an ethernet port you can use a USB to ethernet adapter such as this one from Apple (but there are cheaper ones as well):
- Unzip the agent.zip file somewhere on your laptop (e.g. C:\agent)
- Once unzipped, double click on the start.bat file if on Windows, or, if using macOS or Linux double click on the agentapp.jar (provided Java is installed this will launch the agent).
IMPORTANT: Once you start the agent it’ll read the VIN number from the vehicle and connect to the bootmod3 servers. If you’ve placed an order but haven’t provided us your VIN number the agent will not be able to connect successfully with our servers.
Welcome aqiii,...
