Dodson releases Promax Version 2 dual clutch transmission upgrade for the Lamborghini Huracan & Audi R8

Dodson powers the quickest and fastest dual clutch Lamborghini Huracans and Audi R8's. You may remember the earlier version of their upgrade sending the Huracan into the 7's in the 1/4 mile and essentially bitch slapping Heffner and SSP (South Side Performance) back into their places.

Dodson and UGR (Underground Racing) are now taking things further with the Promax Version 2 upgrade:

What changes in Promax 2.0? They do not say but here is what we know about the previous version:

They are up to 18 plates now and maybe more. UGR is the best bet to test this out and push further into the 7's.

Dodson is quite simply the best in the business.

That basket is a thing of beauty. It is seriously impressive when a small company can improve on something in a new Lambo with all of their R&D budget and the initial cost of the car.

I hear what you mean but the guy at Dodson are basically THE GUYS when it comes to aftermarket dual clutch stuff like this.

The DCT world is split, for BMW stuff SSP seems to have it figured out currently. We still have yet to get our Dodson clutches to learn in on the M4 that holds the power, and 60-130 records. Still shifts hard, and quick, but its clunky. SSP's seems to be drop in, and go. On the other hand it seems, for Porsche, GTR, and these cars here Dodson is king of the hill. Dodson has literally been great through our process with the M4, and helped every step of the way. Great company, and I know they will get the BMW stuff right at some point

It helps that you've got the GTR guys trashing transmissions while they chase 1/4 mile times, and it's also a business expense so they're probably getting some nice write offs

SSP used my DCT to develop their parts and never even got them working. It was a disaster working with them. The owner is a POS.

Dodson saved the day. Their parts are in another league of design and capability.

you are literally living in the past because you have an ax to grind. Its common knowledge currently that SSP BMW DCT clutches are drop in, the learning goes through first time every time. We did 3 Dodson upgrades not a single one would learn in. We had to refund two customers which they took care of no questions asked. So as it stands today, SSP for BMW is the best plug, and play solution. With that said, managed to set records with the Dodson upgrade without completing the learn in, but the shifting is super clunky. You can argue against this all you want. Its facts, we stuck with Dodson for many reasons. One of SSP, tried to make us buy through Pure, I would rather spoon my eyes out than give Jesse a penny. So while I share your enthusiasm for dodson, the facts are, SSP currently seem to learn in easier than Dodson for BMW DCT applications

You didn't experience what I did. You didn't have your car held hostage by SSP for over a year. You didn't receive your car back with a broken trans you had to pay to fix. You weren't used to line someone's pockets.

You have literally NO IDEA what you're talking about regarding my experience with SSP. I think it's important to point out the owner has no morals or ethics whatsoever.

If you are happy with supporting people like that, by all means. I won't.

Furthermore, it's clear Dodson has more skill and resources. That is why they blew SSP out of the f'ing water on the Huracan/R8 and SSP tucked their tail between their legs because all they can do is send parts to China to be copied. That's about it.

So back to the Dodson Lambo/Audi clutch, aren't Underground the only US vendor for this... I.e., if you're not buying an Underground package, you're not getting the clutch

Not to throw the thread off or jack it, but any progress with the built auto unit you guys have? I know you were waiting for the tuning to progress on it.

Basically you have to buy it through UGR in the US, yep.

I don't think you have to have the UGR package to get the upgrades though. Maybe the Promax 2.

They have several dealers listed for just the discs and the other upgrades.

People like to read about what is the quickest and the fastest. Despite there not being a ton of people with UGR V10's people for some reason like to know what they do. Weird, eh?

We do have vendors selling V10 supercharger kits though that might appreciate knowing what upgrades are available for the V10 trans.

Thanks again for the insight Tony.

This is a more relevant question, has VTT considered offering upgraded turbos for the TT-V8 S6/S7/S8? Looking around and the only options seem to be the NGP Racing OEM RS7 Turbo swap (~$10k) and the TTE 800 (~$8,250+) and 9xx (~$12,300+) options. Meanwhile, offerings for the S63 Tu and M157 TT-V8s are considerably more affordable.

Honestly have not even looked into it. Markets like that including the S63TU, etc are what we considered limited. Some people argue that they are not, but limited to us is different than to other people. We have stage 2 M157 upgrades we do now, that market we do see as large. We very well may offer a complete cast replacement like a GC for a price that should shake up the market considerably.

Word -- I know Audi has always taken a back seat to the BMW and Mercedes aftermarket, but they're all now offering TT-V8 super saloons that are mid-10 second capable with bolt-ons. APR and AWE have established themselves as "the" US brand, a few tuners who have some experience, and then MTM, but that's about it.

For the S6/S7 the best bet is an RS7 turbo swap honestly. It works. Better to then mod those.
