    Thanks guys, really appreciate it.

Sticky, here's where I am: Been working on the front of the chassis and the work plan was to build from the bottom up. First, bent the lower rails and mounted in place and then built prototype mounts for the lower control arms and to hold the hubs in proper position. A college kid who stopped by Wray's shop and will be working there for credit next semester, then helped me get the temp hub jigs and the mounts into solidworks. Cut test parts on the plasma cutter and sent the files to the waterjet guy to cut in 3/8th. The LC's mount below the rail and the four C's lock over the tube for lot's of weld surface. With the hubs and lower control arms in position started on the upper rails. After much, fretting, trial and error etc on the front end to clear the motor, the Active Autowerkes supercharger belts, the rack etc. settled on an upper rail design. Didn't quite finish the passenger side upper rail which pulled in tacking so cut the tacks and need to finish up getting it in this weekend, but its sitting in place. Huge help from my buddy Steve who came down to Wray's shop and put his quite considerable skills (besides incredible metal shaping prowess!!!) to work helping me design and model the upper suspension parts for the water jet. Steve's day gig is designing running shoes for New Balance so really know's his way around computer product design. After weeks addicted to the Racing Aspiration Suspension Geometry App I generally knew where I wanted it to all end up, but was like magic watching Steve scan, input, design and clean up working parts ready for cutting. Tremendous appreciation! Supposed to be cut by tmrw so hopefully the front suspension mounts will all be in this weekend! Short term plan is to then finish up the rear, final weld it all up and then attack the 3/4" super leggara structure for the body panels so I can go back to shaping the body. -- I

That racing aspirations app seems really cool and would help a ton if you have complete freedom to design your suspension geometry.
What are the details of what you came up with? How high is your Cog and roll center. Did you make a lot of changes vs the old kit you used before?

    Thanks 93Siro!!

    Subaru,
I started out thinking it would be very much like the old kit, but one thing leads to another and the suspension totally diverged. Four corner F360/430 suspension, with the BMW 3.85 diff. I started with the OEM mounting points for reference, narrowed the track width, stretched the wheel base (but still shorter than the stock Bugatti by 6") and went from there. Very low roll center--roughly 2.75" above ground. Somewhat of an estimated guess on COG until its built and can get weights. Basically started by keeping the lower control arm mounts, camber, castor and chassis height aggresive OEM settings, and adjusting the front and rear upper mounts for instant center, anti squat and anti dive, etc. Ultimately, I think its close and there's a lot of adjustment capability built in with shims. LHIW!!!

Awesome! This will be a killer in the track. Where you getting the Ferrari suspension?

Thankfully for my S65 build I don't have to delegate time elsewhere so I am on this for sixteen hours a day until it's done.

Project has been on hold last six weeks recovering from surgery, but gave me a good opportunity to read/plan more on things like setting the rack for correct ackerman angles. Back on it this weekend. Been dreading getting the lower back rail to define the rear fender line and rear of the body in and getting the two sides to match (tons of indexing). All told, from the front of one wheel arch to the other was four pieces. It's tacked to temporary cross bars until further panel development to confirm flow. Got it pretty close and an assist from Ben Starr yesterday to dial it in. Managed to get a couple more cross rails in too. Threw three of the roof panels on quick for a photo op as I was leaving the shop and give me a rough sense of proportion. Looking forward to getting back to shaping!!! Still can't believe you went from doing a Factory Five kit car to this hand fabricated one-of-a-kind build. Well done.

    Looking fantastic.
