McLaren is king - C7 Corvette Z06 vs. Ferrari 488 GTB vs. Lamborghini Huracan vs. McLaren 675LT at Big Willow
McLaren does not rest on its laurels. They just continue a constant onslaught of ever improving performance models despite already being on top. The truth is McLaren took the performance crown in this segment from Ferrari and does not appear to ever be giving it back with the leaner and meaner 720S looming.
Perhaps only the Lamborghini Performante is a match on the track for the 675LT. However, that is not the Lamborghini used in this comparison. It is also certainly valid to question this comparison.
The Z06 brings up the rear in this test at Willow Springs International Raceway and it makes you wonder how comfortable the test driver is with the Z06 as well as if surface grip was a problem. He certainly seemed to be fighting the car.
Here is the full laptime breakdown:
The Huracan is the least powerful car and the only naturally aspirated contender yet it edges the 488 GTB and the Z06. The McLaren 675LT finishes first but the heavier and less powerful Lamborghini is right on its tail.
It makes you wonder if perhaps grip was an issue and the all wheel drive was able to mask conditions somewhat. The Z06 being almost a full two seconds slower is odd considering in Car and Driver Lightning Lap tests the Z06 beats the Huracan and the 488 GTB.
Also, if making the claim that the 675LT is the top dog on the track where is the Viper ACR to really put that assertion to the test?
Take it for what it is but we have a feeling if you put the Z06 on another track with another driver that large gap will disappear and it likely even finishes ahead of some of the challengers.
The video is below if you can stand all the talking.

Yeah doesn't look bad at all. I was reading that the carbon fiber safety cell is really strong and isolated from all but the most severe damage. There are large crumple zones/subframes that are sacrificial so I highly doubt the "frame" monocoque is damaged.
Sounds like it needs a new front subframe but they sell that and is a bolt on affair, and you can get a new aftermarket front bumper to look more like a 675LT/P1 too!
If I had that kind of free money and space to work on it I would totally buy it.
Absolute worst case if things are somehow way worse than it looks you can part out/sell engine and drivetrain. And at that point you could throw an LS in the rolling shell and make it a badass track beast that would make mclaren ppl so mad lol.

Something tells me that GM has something coming with that big winged Corvette mule driving around. I don't see it having a problem topping this list.

Different days but don't think the driver knows the track best as possible.
The vette was on cup 2 not as sticky as trofeo R. Worth a second easy.
Also
Next up was the ZL1 with a manual. That stick-shift ran a blistering quick 1:26.16, besting the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport (1:26.28), a 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S (1:27.04), a 2015 Porsche Turbo S (1:27.17), and a 2017 McLaren 570S prototype (1:27.21). McLaren 650S Spider—a mid-engine, 3,239-pound, 641-horsepower, carbon-fiber supercar—does a 1:25.88 and Z06 ran a 1:25:00 another day All these with Randy P at the wheel.
Current:
14 Viper TA
Wsir - 1:28:9
Buttonwillow C13 - 1:54:1
