    Stock BMW F10 M5 pulls a Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS?

The BMW F10 M5 is obviously a rapid car but one has to question the source of this video which seems to always show the M5 winning against cars it should it be beating. The GT3 RS is a track special but also certainly quick in a straight line with tests showing trap speeds just under 130 miles per hour.

A stock F10 M5 is not trapping that high but closer to 121. It also weighs 1000+ pounds more than the GT3 RS.

Now, the M5 is claimed to be stock but is it? That is not the factory exhaust system on the car. Additionally, this Youtube channel is well known for racing modifying BMW M cars against stock cars and claiming the BMW's are stock. The Porsche owner supposedly stated the F10 M5 is modified but the M5 owner supposedly claims he is stock.

To further add to the puzzle, this same GT3 RS demolishes a new Cadillac CTS-V LT4 in another video. It isn't even close. How does the GT3 RS go from stomping a car offering similar performance and weight to the M5 to suddenly struggling? It may have something to do with an M5 being involved in the race rather than a CTS-V.

Yes, the GT3 RS aerodynamics will cause drag at higher speeds. Yes, the M5 is more powerful. Yes, you should question this result and previous results in this videos.

Something is fishy if you ask me. But this M5 is on stock flash.. I think it is the CP model from 2013/06-2014/07. Those were beasts, pack it with a full exhaust like this one.. Those do mid 7s 100-200km/h which is fairly the same as the P car Click here to enlarge

It certainly could be the Competition Package but it's weird that isn't specified.

Either way, the GT3 RS goes from annihilating a CTS-V to losing to a stock M5 supposedly...

I've seen CP M5s trap 123-124 pretty sure. What do these RSs trap? Both cars are under-rated, I think the consensus is that the standard GT3 is closer to 500 hp and the RS is more like 525. Nothing in this race looks wrong.

M5 has at least 100 hp on the RS, maybe more. Also about 250 torques. Both have ~same shift speeds. M5 is for sure more aerodynamic. Weight matters less and less over any average period of time as you accelerate, logarithmically. Looks like the M5 starts pulling away around 120 mph or so, which is what I'd expect. More power + better aero = higher top speed and faster acceleration. Weight matters very little relative to say, 0-60 runs at that speed. At least within the relatively "narrow" range here.

My perfect garage is the two cars I own now plus these two in the garage. And maybe an Aventador.

Sure but is it a Competition M5? The exhaust isn't stock so what else is done?

This is the problem with his vids. We don't know.

I've seen an RS do consistent 151-153 in the 1/2 with the wing on it. I've also seen one steadily pull a 458 Speciale online - a car that also does 151-153 in the 1/2 mile - same as a Huracan. Seems fishy. Usually an M5 is a 145-148 car. I am guessing above 140mph the drag from all the downforce may kick in hard - but it still pulls a 458-S?

I was just going to say...that actually looks like the competition exhaust...I think? They have black tips. Although the diameter does look a bit bigger...this is tough for sure.

    The diameter does look bigger.

Whatever. This is what to expect from his vids. Questions and not answers.

Sounds like akrapovic exhaust to me. But these M5s are no joke with competition package and full exhaust.. They run low 7s 100-200km/h which makes a lot of sense.
