xHP automatic flash tool set for March 30th release, claims DCT like shifts
This is going to be ready to go in about a week but the video posted claims 'DCT like' shifting. Based on what though? Because they think it shifts faster? There is literally no measurement of any kind provided to corroborate that and it just seems to be hype:
Ok, so the shifts are firmed up a bit (nowhere near a DCT from that vid) but what else? Where is the full control? Programmable shift points and so forth?
You can see at the end of the video the car revving out slightly higher.

In the other thread they claimed adjustable shift points which would be great for higher HP cars... Except for the fact that the factory trans doesn't hold up well above 600whp for long.

To be fair, every factory n54 Dct has shifted super slow, surprisingly, that I've driven.

The put a dct behind a n54 factory?
ah, the 335is. Didn't know that existed.
From all the videos xHP has posted, I'm not sold at all.
I have not seen any logs to back any claims. There has not been any reviews that I've seen, just video of oodles of d cars.
I'd like to believe this will be a good product, but I think it's too hyped right now.
When MHD rolled out it was pretty hush hush. But once a few tried it, it was like crack.
I see xHP selling well, but getting mediocre reviews. The old grey hairs might like the 'sportier' shifts in d. But the rest of us want some user adjustability.

tq limit and higher revs aside, based on these videos, if someone told me this was an alpina flash, i wouldn't know the difference. Without any numbers, I have no idea how much "better" the shifting is.

Wow bunch of haters in here. The auto is a lot tougher than you guys think, you just have to know how to tune for it. If this flash can change the shift points and increase line pressure it will have a nice impact on what we can get out of the stock tranny.
Still waiting to see a high HP DCT in a 335 Sticky...I swear whatever the M3 comes with you just ride that sackNo longer participating on this forum.

Iirc, they claimed +10% line pressure with stage 3.
it could help a bit to handle more torque, but not as much as a rebuild tranny as propulsive dynamics or nizpro.
shiftpoints are better in D and S mode, compared to alpina.
torque limiter is fully disabled in stage 3.

And?
Unlocking the converter can help with rolls for those of us with no antilag, IMO.
Plus I'd like to be able to rev higher than about 2k at the line.

If I had this when our white 135i was AT I could have changed the shift point from 6600rpm to 7200rpm and used a lot more of the powerband. But, the core issue is the weak trans, and IMHO this software is not going to do much to address that. Still looks like an awesome addition to the platform. Kudos to those involved.

Does XHP have a name here?
"New app version V1.1.31 online!

- Fixed an issue where some cars lost their Paddle shifters after flash
- Added a switch to turn off Pre-Flash Safety Checks (only use in case of problems starting the flash)New app version V1.1.31 online!

My fuel pump ran the whole time, during the ~25min software install and another ~5min for the reflash.
If I would have known this I would have pulled the fuse. I did not feel comfortable to do so after the process started.
I am on app version 1.1.34 and maps are synced.

It's out and I've flashed stage 3 to my 135i, it's okay, noticeable improvement over alpina but I do all of my driving in M mode so can't comment on D and DS modes but the consensus is large improvement over alpina D.

On my car there is no difference in M, and I'm kinda pissed about that. i kinda expected shifts like a TH350 with a shift kit. Nothing like that, nothing different than Alpina B3 from what I can tell.
Apart form the TQ limiter being upped.
