    Lightbulb 535i F10 N55 Turbo Options

    First Post!

I am currently interested in purchasing a new upgraded turbo for my 535i F10 N55.... Multiple options, but I'm not sure which one is the best given very limited info online about any F10 N55's upgrading their turbos.

It seems Pure Stage 2 is the most liked, but the core deposit is not attractive at all.

The Steam STX 67 caught my interest, but I was hoping for a turbo that will deliver massive gains and there is very limited info available online.

I also saw the Vargas, but again core deposit is a turn off.

I was hoping fo find a beast turbo for $2k-ish.

I would appreciate any advice or opinions from all the Boost Experts!

Well for $2kish you can only get a stage 2, and Pure is the best option. With proper fuel and supporting mods you can get to upper 500whp. There are a few stage 3 kits that don't have core charges, but cost $5k+.

Stuck, was having issues with his Pure Stage 2 in his F10 N55 so I got scared away. I'm not savvy enough to conquer the turbo install and especially any issues would run me broke in wasted shop hours at $125/hr.

The Pure Stage 2 seems to be a pretty reliable N55 upgrade IMO.

You obviously have to pay to play when messing with turbochargers.

Sticky, I definitely respect your opinion and agree that I have heard mostly only great things about Pure Stage 2 for the N55. Stuck is a so BMW smart though (I have to google some things that are over my head) so it's a reasonable concern that he can't quickly figure out the issues. He stated that he ruled out all other possible issues, so I'm anxiously awaiting to see if a new Pure Stage 2 is the golden fix.

I set aside some money for the Pure Stage 2 a few months ago, but I don't enough of a cushion for unnecessary turbo troubleshooting at a shop. I will be awaiting Stucks next update and currently both him and BMW doubles have me strongly considering a Mission Performance stage 2 flash!

I would be a little patient. We are about to drop an N55 upgrade option, that is going to change the game just like we did with the N54. We have one currently installed, and going through testing. How does, 500-700WHP capable, stock spool characteristics, competitive price, no core charges sound? Too good to be true? Its not. Announcement coming in the next 1-2 months..Click here to enlarge

1-2 months.... argh. Can I at least get a teaser going to build interest? Even a shot of the turbo is enough.

No prob. It doesn't haven't to be anything specific just something that can accompany an article.

An EFR 7163 doesn't support 700WHP...Click here to enlarge That's a good guess though.

Great, hopefully RHD F-series fitment will follow too.

Can we expect a similar design to the n54 GC's but in single turbo configuration obviously?

Tony, that sounds impressive. Any more info you can share such as price estimate? Will it fit on an F10 N55?
