Android gauges? (No JB4)
Anyone have a favorite gauge set up they use on an android tablet or phone ?
About to switch over to MHD and would like to to run some gauges on this tablet, but not sure MHD monitor is worth it/looks good enough. I've got Carly and Torque (free versions) but no idea how accurate they are compared to my Cobb.
Also, any tips/tricks for running a tablet full time on the dash?2007 Jet Black E90 335xi "The Mistress" / RB Next Gens / RB EVO Intake / E50 / FuelitS2 / 5" Stepped FMIC / VRSF DPs / Synapse BOV and Charge Pipe / Alpina Flash / Muffler Delete w/ 4in Black Tips / DCI / 19x8.5 Satin Black Squared Enkei Raijins / 245/35/r19 Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position / 20mm Rear Spacers / 2 10" Rockford Fosgate's Added to Logic7 (15 total speakers!)

Navigation, dash cam if I can get it working, and digital gauges instead of buying gauges/pods.

I'm running a nexus 7 in dash.
There is a lot of advantages to it, including but not limited to:
Better navigation (Waze)
Better audio (when using a dedicated usb dac)
Digital gauges (Torque, MHD or JB4 which is the one i'm using), note that the Jb4 gauges have a slight delay, probably around 500ms.
Dashcam and reverse cam.
When using a bluetooth GPS with a high refresh rate, like the garmin GLO, you can use an app who uses gps to calculate your acceleration. Surprisingly, it is amazingly precise, never used a vbox but from what i've seen it's pretty much the same.
And all other benefits of having a fully online system.

Compared to torque, MHD is far far better. Specific gauges to the n54 sensors, torque reads boost completely incorrectly on our cars. I've used both and now exclusively use MHD

That's what I was looking for. My thought was a standardized app wouldn't be as accurate as something designed specifically for our cars. So the MHD Monitor module is worth it huh? Do you literally have to connect to the internet every 24 hours for it to work? Or has that changed? (read that on early MHD threads)

My phone has Internet access so I don't know but I don't see it caning my data. You will need a wired cable though the Bluetooth adaptor won't be up to it. However I successfully used and eBay cable only costing about 30

No, I use a micro USB to regular USB adaptor. Unless martial says otherwise I think it needs to be wired.
