Sterling BMW is looking for the world's dumbest BMW fan to spend $200k on an F82 M4 GTS
Sterling BMW is located in Newport Beach, California. There certainly are a lot of posers in Orange County but there likely is not anybody dumb enough to pay an extra $60k on top of the already absurd BMW M4 GTS MSRP.
Who in the world would be stupid enough to pay over sticker for a track car that is a performance failure? Let's quickly recap what the M4 GTS offers. A minimal performance increase over the standard M4 thanks to suspension upgrades, aerodynamic changes, a new tune, and water injection.
You can literally get coilovers, an even stronger aftermarket tune, and add in your own water/meth system on a standard F82 M4 and outperform the M4 GTS while saving $60,000.
The M4 GTS can not beat a single performance car in its price range around the track and several that are much cheaper embarrassingly spank it. BMW did not shave the weight they claimed they would and the car does not meet any of the performance targets they claimed either. The car amounts to nothing more than hype.
The M4 GTS is already overpriced at $134,200 let alone with a $60k market adjustment. They adjusted the price in the wrong direction. Good luck finding that sucker Sterling.

Not disagreeing at all bro, in fact, you read my mind. But among posers, a GTS is a status symbol.
$#@! that, 911 GT3 all day.Because racecar.

No, nobody is going to look at the sticker and say "an arbitrary market adjustment of $60,000 over MSRP seems completely reasonable. Deal!".
I would expect if this got back to BMW USA that they wouldn't be too happy about it. I work for is a sales agency and while we too like to make money we're very careful to make sure not to overprice product in such a way that would make us (or more importantly) our manufacturers look bad. At the end of the day it's not good for business.

People in Toronto cream their pants over the GTS. When I go to track days or car meets and there is a GTS there, it will get more attention than my GT3 RS or my friend's Scud.

I have a dealer friend that also have a GTS sitting in their showroom with big markups. They have people lined up to buy it at msrp, but the dealership thinks having the car there draws in customers.
The GTS hasn't received the best reviews lately, I think some of the hype has died off.
If M2CSL comes out with S55, no one will care about the GTS.
