ETS - great priced, doesn't fit 09 XI models due to change in charge pipe design. Fits no cutting.
Helix- the most expensive of the bunch but one of the best performing. If you are going the upgraded turbo route its worth every penny.
AMS- see above.
CPe - never put one in...don't know much about it.
Big Tom - stop being cheap, this isn't a freaking Honda...after all said and done it will cost as much as an AMS or helix to get installed with all the custom work and labor....and the data proving it better is only at full throttle...how many times are you at full throttle on the street for more than 2 minutes?

LOl e92 is whack , would never trade for one, as I'm not a big corner guy , and I hate the low end torque

If you research intercooler design you will find that the AMS and HPF intercooler are most likely to have the least pressure drop.
The HPF intercooler has the largest cubic volume available, not counting the "Big Tom" intercooler.
I would go HPF. You WILL NOT be able to heat-soak it at current power levels, and you won't have to worry about it being a bottleneck.

Honda...
I just love all those funny comments regarding this $250 IC, especially the ones comming from the vendors!
Total cost for my IC, including install and material, was $300. No more or less.
Can I buy a Helix/AMS, including install for $300? No.
Does my car perform well during full throttle? Yes.
Does my car perform well during normal use? Yes.
Is my car one of the fastest N54's in Sweden? Yes.
Please skip this kind of talk. I can't imagine anyone believes it.

I like the bigtom idea and the price, and it doesn't matter if it's honda or where it's made , if it's working good it's good !!! I just don't want to do much cutting, and don't have time much for the whole custom fabrication, anyway ETS is already sold to someone else, so I have to go between AMS and cp-e, if I can get them for the same price, which one will give me more perfomance ? Thanks

its mostly about surface area.. too much cubic area makes pressure drops.
heatsoak will eventually happen if you ride it hard all the time. but realistically speaking. nobody will be gunning their car continuously for an hour.. lolBurger Motorsports

What are the cubic volumes of each, inlet and outlet diameter, and which design allows for the least amount of friction/turbulence/pressure drop?
CP-E = 528 CI volume
AMS = 720 CI volume
To me, the AMS looks to have better flowing end-tanks, but will require cutting.
The CP-E can be setup to attach an additional oil cooler.
It's your choice, and I really like CP-E's stuff, but I'd go for the AMS on my own car.Last edited by fundahl; 11-01-2010 at 02:43 PM.

Thanks slik for your opinion =] if I will be able to get ams for the price I hope I'll get it , if not I have great deal for cp-e, but the question is will the cp-e oil cooler heat soak the ic ? it's sitting right on top of it ?

As long as the mounts are thermally insulated better than bare metal (rubber, plastic, wood, whatever) I don't really see that being an issue, actually even without. There will always be some heat transfer if two objects are at different temperatures, but I'm pretty confident that their oil-cooler won't heat-soak your intercooler.

That is what Intercoolers do, yes. thats why surface area is the key.. I installed this on my car. its bigger by cubic cm and surface area. i got no pressure drops no increase in lag, actually my butt dyno tells me in higher gears my car pulls harder and more linear on freeway pulls. IC make big difference.
