I was always told if the scuffing on the cylinder wall will catch your fingernail it needs to be bored instead of just honed. That is good to know and lucky it worked for you! Keep us updated on how the motor lasts.
Yes, JE and CP will make oversized pistons. I have a set of 1 size over (+.5mm) to allow for fresh boring to match pistons. I got them through VAC.

I will make a build threat once I'm all done (~1 month from now).

Like you said, some minimal corrections are useful to know that your knock control is functioning and that you are on the edge of the performance/safety threshold of knock, but not that magnitude. I think if you have a more aggressive IAT retard table and slightly lower base timing values in the midrange you would see a couple MPH in trap speeds due to less corrections (and more actual spark advance than what your seeing). But that is up to your tooner Click here to enlarge

I'm curious as to how you are testing knock thresholds without knowing what's happening in cylinder
I had no tuning at the event, we threw something together quickly on the dyno the night before, and ran those maps. I did not have my WOTbox working, which explains the DME closing the throttle on shifts even though I was to the floor, I had the IAT tables pulling all the timing, even though 140-150 IAT's is totally acceptable when running E85, I will get rid of that table for the next race, and of course the shifter issue, I already have a brand new shifter going in tonight or tomorrow. We will get close to 170 the next race, with just these few small adjustments, I am sure of it. We planned to hit the strip this weekend, but its got rain for 5 days straight in the forecast so maybe not!

I think if you're serious about that 170 trap you should get an ice/water tank setup. It will solve that IAT issue I would think.

With 100% E85 145 iat are a non issue. The iat table was set at factory levels for pump gas, and pulled all timing out of the car. 100% E85 provides tremendous in cylinder cooling, the iat reading is in the charge pipe. Just get rid of that table, and issue is fixed

    LOL

Car is looking good. Can't believe how far we're pushing stock frame turbos now!

ill be the first to say these are not stock frames. They fit in stock location, look like stock frames, but that's where the similarities end. Stock frame couldn't do what these do. They just have too much BP up top. I got an email from a potential customer today, looks like RB dropped the price of his Evo's to the same cost as GC's and is bold face lying, and saying they do not use stock turbine housing / manifolds but are a fully new cast turbo. Gotta love the marketing tactic, when you can't knock off the product, just tell people what you are selling is the same when it isn't. Makes me chuckle the ends vendors will go to to stay relevent.

1 Sleeve/ 1 used piston rod combo is much more cost effective than boring all 6 and replacing all 6 etc
